OMG, I witnessed my first road rage incident and it happened right behind me!

I was travelling one of our busier roadways in Boston and noticed a van and a car both trying to get the spot behind me. Traffic was heavy and not going fast. These two nuts were inches away from my back bumper, neither yielding.

The van managed to get the spot briefly then the car tried once more to get behind me. That's when the van pulled back beside the car, the driver turned his wheel sharply and hit the car broadside hard enough to dent the side of the car.

I don't know if the car ended up hitting anyone else or what happened after that. My first thought was to get away from these two as quickly as possible. I was rear ended badly once before and wasn't going to end up in the middle of a multi-car accident. There was a clearing and I was out of there.

What is with drivers? Is it that important that one person be in front of another. Now neither is probably going anywhere.

What in the world is wrong with people these days? I am just glad that you didn't get side swiped. Hope the poor unfortunate person(s) that were hit are okay.

I always wonder what it is they hope to gain by being one car ahead of another.

Now, that's smart! What the heck is with people? What did that solve? Unreal! What if there were kids in the cars, or in surrounding cars? All to get 1 car lenght ahead.....

Atleast YOU got out of there..that's the important thing! Stuff like this just amazes me!

I just sent a note to the Boston Police to report what I saw. I'm not sure what good it will do but maybe if others reported more information (plate numbers and makes of vehicles) the drivers might be issued a citation.

We have so many road rage and insurance fraud issues around here it's crazy. It also endangers other innocent people in some cases.

That's unreal. People risking other's lives for no good reason. You gotta wonder about folks sometimes.

I see that all the time. I am an insurance adjuster in RI. It's crazy what you see. That van will probally argue from here to next week that this guy cut him off and hit him and he'll get a lawyer before he even leaves the scene of the accident.

Most people don't realize the extent that the investigation goes through for these type of accidents. Did you get a plate number or anything? If you did I would call the Police Department either boston or state police depending on the highway and location. Being a witness for this would certainly help the insurance companies figure out what really happened. I know it could be a pain, but if there was a young innocent women in the car, you could be her hero.

As you can imagine I see this every day... especially with the company I work for. We insure some crazies!!
