Road closures during Wine and Dine Half Marathon

Hi, all -

We’re staying at YC and have a tour at AK that starts at 8 am on the day of the upcoming half marathon. It’s a huge splurge (VIP tour), so I’m concerned about getting waylaid by the likely road closures near the resort. Looks like the route goes right by there, and late enough on the route that 7/7:30 could be the height of running activity. Any thoughts from those with experience? Getting a lot of pressure from a family member to start at 8 and not 8:30 (hence the choice of AK), but I’m wondering if a smarter/safer start point would be DHS at 8:30. Thanks!

The vip tour phone line has a 60 min hold, so I made an executive decision to switch to dhs. Boat or foot transportation ftw!

There will not be any road closures if you are traveling from YC to AK. The road closures would be on the southbound side of World Drive and the East Bound side of Buena Vista Drive. You would be able to go directly west on Buena Vista to AK.

What about going from a hotel in the Flamingo Crossings area to HS?
