RnR Chicago Half Marathon, Aug 2, 2009

Hey!! I'm in 18, Patrick is in 14.

Although I like my summers warmer than they have been, hoping the lower temps and humidity hold for next weekend!

We going to try to meet up at the expo on Sat?

Pat - any thoughts on where to get lunch? With the expo being at McCormick not as easy to just walk somewhere.

Liz, I have no idea....honestly DH knows more about Vegas and I know more about WDW than either of us know about Chicago. I hate the thought of having to pay McCormack Place parking and then have to leave and pay to park somewhere else. Maybe everyone should just come back to our house for lunch, but I think the out-of-towners want to see some of Chi-town:rotfl:

Heaven on Seven that's actually on Michigan. So yummy!

Pat - there's a parking lot with flat $10 fee we've used past 2 times we've been downtown. Going to check but do believe fairly easy walk to McCormick. Really don't want to pay $19 to park there. If we had an idea on number of people could do picnic. :confused3

Amy - LOVE Heaven on Seven but personally not the best thing the day before a race.

Yeah you'd have to stick to the the corn muffins for carbs, stay away from the spicy stuff. I'm spectating:cheer2: this race so I've got hurricaines on the brain.:lmao:

There are Maggianos all over if you like pasta before we usually stick to sandwhiches before any distance races. I'm sure people have better ideas where to get those in the McCormick area than we do, we usually eat ourselves sick when we're in the city.

Found out our cousins' are in corrals 14-16 everyone signed up together and the same pace no clue why they are all over.

Hey Liz, I'd appreciate the info about the $10 lot. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good weather!

Because I screwed up and remembered the SEATTLE race AFTER it was done I am posting today!

Hope you all have the greatest time and safe travels!!!!! Can't wait to see the photos with all the new bling!!!! Don't forget Jim's (Pat's DH) bag tip to carry those goody's after the finish line :thumbsup2 I'm telling ya, it's better than slice bread :woohoo: Toss your fanny belts in there, your warm water you've just carried 13 miles. Make yourself free for those post race photos :thumbsup2

Have tons of fun!!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Parking lot is on Michigan about 3 blocks south of Grant Park on right side (if coming from GP). It's a small lot, no attendant until after 8am on weekends but you just pull in, park and pay before you leave. Trying to find cross street for you.

Thanks Diane. It looks like we are going to have great weather.

Glad that the weather should be cooperating! Have all kinds of fun and come tell us about it please. Pics are always appreciated ;)

It was fabulous, we had an awesome weekend with WISHers. I hope to do a trip report if I can find the time. Jim and I both PR'd (not by much) and the weather actually was pretty darn good for Chicago in August.

Excellent job Jim & Pat!!! :cheer2: Looking forward to hearing all the details, but if you don't write it down maybe I'll just hunt you down on say Jan 9th or 10th

Seriously, would love to hear more info on this one as it's so close. I still have my heart set on someday doing the Indy one you enjoyed. preferrably sooner than later LOL but it IS high on my list. :thumbsup2

LIZ! I saw you post on the Goofy thread. Bummer about the blisters :sad1: going over there next to post more as i can't recall the rest of your post, that's what i get for jumping up and down while reading LOL

You know what I just realized! I don't think I've seen the BLING!!!! COME ON TEAM! Photos!!! Or at least a description cuz I really don't recall hearing what this medal looks like! Shocking i know!
