Adults-Only Anniversary Trip - AKL vs WL vs BW?

I've not seen anyone recommend renting DVC points and that's how we made Boardwalk affordable on our first trip and loved that resort. You may find that renting the points beats the promo Disney has offered and then you could do your full stay. Our family is not a split stay. We like to settle in and not pack up and move, but I know there are others that love the split stays.

We also do not like split stays. I like to unpack and stay where we're at. If I want to stay at another resort, I'll just stay there next time.

We find, most of the time now, we are renting DVC for our stays. We like to have a balcony, and we like to have a couch. I'm not big on sitting on the bed when I'm hanging around in the room.

We are probably THE target market for purchasing DVC, but we got turned off for many reasons at the start.

Our next stay on DVC rented points is at Boardwalk Inn - Boardwalk View and the cost of rented points is way less than 50% of rack rate.

What happened? What turned you off from purchasing DVC?
There was a lot of things.

One, we didn't know if we'd be going to Disney every year, or even every 2 years. (Lol, we've probably averaged around once a year trips.)

Even though we were in a situation where we could have paid cash for a decent number of points, it didn't interest us.

The thought of spending thousands and thousands of dollars and still having to be online at 6:00 am fighting with everyone else over the reservation I want, and maybe not getting it really did not excite me too much.

Also, back when DVC started I'd read the message boards filled with posts of how to scam more soap and sheets and towels by stealing them off maid carts or making friends with a housekeeper to get these things. Messages of where to ditch your trash or getting directions to the 'trash rooms.'

Until they stopped it during Covid, whenever we rented DVC points we would pay for the daily housekeeping.

Being on vacation to us is being taken care of.

We also never cook in our rooms. Even though we've rented 2 bedroom DVC's, we really just use the fridge for a few beers, or a couple of snacks. We don't need a stove or garbage disposal or even a kitchen table.

I would pick an Epcot resort for the convenience. That is what we are doing when we go in Nov without our college aged kids. Especially for F&W.
