Hi all! We are a family of 5 (6,4,4) and looking to go down for a room only trip early next year. We have not stayed at either and I was wondering which resort you think is better for kids resort stay? Better splash/pool area, etc?

Thanks

Kidani has an amazing pool area for kids that age if they aren't fully swimming on their own. The splash area is awesome at Kidani. If you want big pools you can go to Jambo too. If you are only doing the resort and no parks I would pick AKL for sure, the animals are unbeatable for kids at those ages.

For kids, AKL hands down. The animals are fantastic, and the pools are some of the best on property. If you're going to be at a hotel all day, it's hard to beat AKL.

However, transportation is better at RIV, with the skyliner.

That's a tough one. The theming is better at Kidani, IMHO, but the food choices and bedding layout are better at RIV. You would also have the Skyliner in case you want to explore a little bit.

Animal Kingdom is wonderful for kids those ages, even my girls loved it and they were a bit older the first time we stayed there. The Riviera is very pretty but the animals can’t be beat. I’ve never stayed in a one bedroom at AKV but we’ve stayed in a balcony room and while you can still see the animals from lookouts around the resort, it’s amazing waking up to them outside your room. The riviera has the skyliner but if you aren’t doing any park visits, it’s not worth it.

AKL kidani 1 bedroom is roomy and the balconies are huge. Great for animal viewing. See if you can get 2nd floor to see the animals better. Sanaa is one of my favorites on property. Pools are great too.

I agree with others - AK 100%

Agree with most posters. For adults, Riviera 1BR is probably my favorite room on property. For kids, I would choose Kidani 1BR. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that food options are limited there right now.
