I heard there used to be a small river-based water park at FW. Why has it been closed? I have heard raves about it and was kind of hoping they would reconsider opening it.

It was called River Country and was a small water park with a few slides. It is located by the marina and they used the beach as part of it. It was closed due to bacteria in the water. Last time I asked, I was told that it would never be reopened. Too bad as my kids loved it. I think they need to make some kind of themed pool for the campground in that area because it is a waste.

mrsgus06 Thank you for your explanation! I'd heard that is just wasn't "popular" anymore due to TL and BB, which may be true but that just seemed like such a bad reason! :sad2: I have heard of bacteria problems in the lake but never put two and two together to link that reason to the closing of River Country. I can rest easier now, though I will never get over RC closing...

I read on another board from someone that talked to a CM there:

"...current talk is that they are going to transform the old RC into a water playland and pool area similar to the ones at WL and CS".

Have never been there before myself, but looking forward to it next May, so I hope they do put something there.
