Rivers of Light Standby Line Or Alternate Viewing Location

I am going the second week of December. I think there is just one ROL show the evening that I plan to be in AK. How early do I need to get in the standby line? I have allotted 30-45 minutes for the wait. If I can't get in, is there an alternate location that I might be able to view from? I have seen outdoor seating area at Flame Tree mentioned on here before.

You might want to check the official schedule, because I just saw someone posted about another showing of ROL had been added on the 12th and I looked at my plans and saw that the park hours had been expanded a couple of nights as well.

Looks like they have added a second showing on my day (12/13), too. I checked all of the park schedules for my week 3 days ago.

I would still like to catch the 1st show, if possible, though.
