Rivers of Light Dining Package Lookout Thread - NOW ACCEPTING RESERVATIONS

I got a dinner adr for 5:45pm at Tusker House and got the 1st show. Adr is for Aug. 31st

So does has anyone found out for sure if the Rivers of Light Dining packages will be covered by DDP as dining Credits? or will it have an additional cost on top of your DDP credit? thanks

I just booked Tusker House with ddp for 1 credit on 8/31. It said nothing about paying extra.

can someone please clarify something for me? are there 2 separate night shows at AK? one being jungle book and one being rivers of light? and if so, are they held on different nights or at different times? i am trying to figure out if you would need to book 2 separate dining packages on 2 separate nights in order to experience both shows?? i called dining reservations and spoke to someone who could not answer this question, although she was happy to repeat other information multiple times, lol, so i have decided to ask the experts! thanks to anyone who can help here : ) ps, i am planning a fall trip.

Only one show. Disney had major problems with the barges used for ROL, so that show has been put on an indefinite hold. In the meantime, Disney will show the Jungle Book show, which will use some of the elements from ROL (projections, some of the barges maybe, etc.). No one (not even Disney) knows when/if ROL will debut.

I'm waiting for October, but given that they just extended the dates for June-Sept 5th, I think we better be prepared to wait a while. Would be surprised if they get extended in the next two months. I think they probably will want to figure out if they can get ROL working, or if they extend Jungle Book. I also wonder if they can do the switch quickly, or if they'll need some "refurbishment" downtime to make the switch.

i've been away from the boards for a little while and missed so much! i was thinking i need to be checking every day for october/november but based on what you are saying i guess i can stand down, lol! i sure hope it is up and running this fall. just the word " refurbishment" gives me pause, but we have lots of time so hopefully they will get it all sorted out. the woman i spoke with at dining seemed a little annoyed and i finally gave up trying to ask her the question you answered so quickly so thanks again : )

? - I booked a 1st showing on August 21st, was unable to book the second showing. Does anyone know if the 2nd showings are actually being sold out or are they not making them available until the 1st showing sells out? I just find it odd that the first showing had so much availability on that day and the second showing nothing.

They don't have 2nd showing as an option. Could it be possible that when there is a 2nd showing it is all general public as I doubt many will get in as standby in first showing?

I'm also wondering the same thing. We're at AK Sept17th and I'm preparing myself that neither show may be running. I hope I'm totAlly wrong but would rather be prepared than disappointed.

For those hoping the DDP will cover the dining package, I don't think so. Fantasmic dining package will not use DDP. Since the article mentioned "like Fantasmic", I think they are just mentioning that the restaurants take DDP as a side note.

I was unable to get TH package for my clients, but we did get Tiffins. I was frustrated because of the additional cost, but they are excited, so I guess it's all good! :goodvibes

It actually does state on the Disney site for The Jungle Book Dining Package that it is Dining Plan eligible.... https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/animal-kingdom/jungle-book-dining-package/

Fantastic dining packages *are* covered by DDP. Don't see a reason why this one wouldn't be too. Especially since Disney said in their release on May 20th that it would.

I stand corrected. They were not covered when we did it last May. The site specifically stated it was not DDP eligible. That was the reason we didn't do DDP.

We have used the DDP for the Fantasmic dining package multiple times, including June 2014 and last August. I have no idea why it would have stated that it wasn't covered last May. The article stating that it would be covered like it was for Fantasmic is one of the reasons I've been confident that the DDP will be accepted.

I am going to be at WDW for Halloween - hoping that Rivers of light is up and running by then. Does anyone know if the night hours will be extended past September 05?

Don't know where you ever saw that Fantasmic packages weren't covered by the dining plan! We've done it multiple times over the years and it's always been covered! You mentioned you're doing this for your clients. Are you a TA planning a trip for clients? Better make sure you have this figured out and are giving the right info!

I'm guessing the confusion comes because people miss the word SOME DDP are not included. The quick service DP cannot be used but the others can.

THIS! The DDP could be used for the Fantasmic! Dining packages. H & V and Mama Melrose's are 1 credit, Hollywood Brown Derby is 2. Not sure how PP got confused, but hopefully this info will help them in the future.
