Has anyone seen the new menu for the Riverbelle Terrace? A sandwich there goes for 20 dollars now. Does anyone know why the sudden sky rocketing prices? I know it's table service now but some friends ate there today and they said it was ridiculously overpriced for what you get.

Since they got rid of the Big Thunder Mountain BBQ, they are trying to give another table service restaurant. My daughter & I ate there last Friday. I had the half chicken, season veggies, and cole slaw. Kelly had the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, and tater tots. We also had the biscuits they serve with honey butter, and ordered an appetizer of creamy pimento cheese dip. (I forgot to take pics of the biscuits.)

The cheese dip was $10, my chicken was $21, and Kelly's pulled pork sandwich was $20. We thought the bread for the cheese dip was too dry, the biscuits & honey butter were delicious. My chicken was delicious. Kelly loved her pulled pork sandwich. The meals come with baked beans and another side, but you can substitute another side for the baked beans -- we wanted to taste the different offerings. The tater tots were hit & miss. Some were really good, some were okay, like they seasoned them unevenly. The coleslaw was good, the green beans could have been cooked just a little more. I liked the baked beans, while Kelly thought they could have used more flavor.

Kelly ended with the Maple, apple, bacon bundt cake. I had a taste of it. It was really good. (warm)

I think it's a bit on the expensive side.

Thanks for the review and photos! Were they using the indoor and outdoor seating areas like they did for the F! dining package? If they did, did you get to choose where you sat (i.e., could you request inside or outside)? Did the indoor area look much different from when it was a CS location?

We sat outside, loved it. I had the ribs, they were great. Didn't care for the potato salad. Loved the biscuits and honey butter. My daughter had the fried chicken sandwich and really liked it. Also had the Maple APple Bacon Bundt Cake. Really enjoyed.

The seating inside is very limited. We were seated outside, and it was fine. We enjoyed the ambiance, especially since it was relatively warm outside. The service was great. They topped off our water often, and were not intrusive, yet available when we needed them. My picture of the menu came out a little blurry so I need to go back.

My friends ate there a few days ago and said it was way overpriced ($20 for some sausage and tater tots) and the food was not that great. They were very disappointed and won't be going back.

I saw a picture of that sausage plate - what a waste.

Makes me miss Big Thunder Ranch BBQ even more.

We had lunch there on Friday, it was pretty good. My wife liked it more than I did because of the BBQ tofu. I had the bbq fried chicken sandwich. Food was good, but it was pretty pricey. We loved the Big Thunder Ranch, I wish they had made it more like that. But the food was good.

What was the portion size like on the ribs? I'm trying to decide whether to keep my reservation at Riverbelle or take my hungry rib loving teenage son across the street to Tony Romas.

We ate there Saturday, split the pimento cheese, DW had the brisket salad, I had the bbq fried chicken sandwich. Tater tots were hit & miss, beans were good. We'll be back.

Is the cheese dip warm?

Yes, and nicely spicy.

Here's my DW's review on Yelp:

Loved this new table service choice in Disneyland. The warm pimento cheese appetizer was tasty, and our server Louis gave us extra celery sticks when we asked. The iced tea was unsweetened, and a refreshing alternative to soda or water. The chopped salad was delicious, with the bits of pickles an interesting twist. I had it the brisket, but I think I'll choose chicken or shrimp next time. Oh, yes, definitely a next time.

I have to say that between the prices and the fact that the ROA area is so static now, I am not that interested in trying the new RBT. I probably will also give Cafe Orleans and Hungry Bear a rest. What used to be so nice about all three was eating while watching the river traffic and activity in the background. I loved hearing that Mark Twain whistle blow - and sometimes the DLRR train and the Mark Twain would toot and signal at one another as the train passed along the banks of the river. All of that is quiet and still now. So if I do decide to visit this summer, we'll probably do Blue Bayou or French Market if they happen to have a Dixieland band playing on their stage.

To be fair it is still a bustling area- the Mark Twain is still accessible and they still blow the horn :)

We enjoyed the atmosphere while we were there. @Misskitty3, the chicken was delicious. It was tender and succulent - even the white portion. We also enjoyed the cheese dip, but next time I'll ask for fresh pieces of bread.

Honestly, while my visiting there last week, the ROA still looked very nice, calm and peaceful. Like it's back side never was touched, seeing how you really cannot see that part of the river right now. The Mark Twain is sitting pretty at its perch.
For a moment I did get a bit excited when I saw a couple of people walking over on pirate's lair, but be dashed my hopes were, when I had to accept the fact that they were workers in plain clothes. Oh man! :faint: lol
Anyway, that entire area is by no means any kind of ghostie town. If anything, the river area just appears to be in between ships at the moment.

The Mark Twain's whistle still blows! And you can meet Tiana and Louis on it!

That is great news about the M Twain whistle! It put a smile on my face just thinking about it. Don't know why that tickles me so much. It is just part of that Dland immersive atmosphere (sights, smells, sounds) that is such a thrill when it all works well.
