I think I'd like to enjoy the California weather and have our first lunch outdoors. We like good food but also don't want to spend a huge amount of time waiting for our meal - preferably an hour turnaround time. Any preferences or other suggestions?

I prefer Carnation Cafe. Loaded baked potato soup is YUMMY! Oh, and you can meet Oscar the chef -- he's a real Disney legend. :)

I second the Carnation Cafe!! It is super YUMMY and so beautiful sitting outside (with shade). Remember to make PS though, so you don't have to wait too long (we saw lots of people waiting and I felt a little bad for them when we got to walk right on in).

Interesting.....I just assumed the counter service items would be cheaper (and maybe they are since you don't need to add tip) but Carnation Cafe has better selection and prices. Carnation Cafe it is - if I can get a PS! I've only made PS for BB and Goofy's Kitchen and first DL day is this Saturday!

I bet you'll be able to get into Carnation. I called today an hour before I wanted to eat, no problem at all.

:thumbsup2 Another vote for CC!

We'll be there for lunch on Saturday -- it'll be our first meal at DL. Kind of a tradition, actually. The food there has always been good and reasonably priced. Plus, the ambiance of being right on Main Street just gives us that "Disneyland feel".

BTW, I made reservations this week and had no problem getting in to every place we tried (only one character meal, though).

I have not had the priveldge of eating lunch at CC, but everything sounds so good, it is on my list for this October!!

I was able to get a PS but I was surprised to learn that the lunch menu doesn't start until 11:50 a.m. Also, I was not able to get a PS until 12:10. We're going to need a mid-morning snack to tide us over until then (since we're on central time it makes for a very late lunch). It's a good thing I called though because I was thinking my Goofy's Kitchen PS was for Sun but I had made it for Sat. Forunately, I was able to get the same time slot on Sunday.

I love CC... Oscar is great, and his chef's salad is yummy... also LOVE the baked potato soup.... mmmmmm...

We had a surprise when we were there in May... Eeyore came to visit all the tables at our lunch... it was really cool!
