Hi in Oct. The Riverbelle was being remodeled, is it open now and if so what is different about it? I had heard it was going to go to 2 stories, is that true? It is our absolute favorite place for breakfast.

I've read that their menu has changed quite a bit, at least the non-breakfast options.

I ate there a couple of weeks ago (the day after Christmas) and really wasn't impressed. I went in a bit after noon. The line was fairly long and they only had one side open. I was probably in line at least 30 minutes. The menu now is sandwiches and salads. They have prime rib, turkey, veggie and a pork po-boy. They come with a choice of side dishes (the sandwiches). I had the turkey with the lentil salad. It really wasn't all that impressive for the price ($12 something before tax and any discounts, for just that--drinks are separate, of course). The lentil salad was pretty good, but I still got tired of the taste. I probably won't be going back any time soon. I really miss the bbq chicken salad (now that was worth a wait and the price). I'm not a fan of their breakfast anyway as they way undercook the pancakes imo.

I've never really thought much of the food there (breakfast aside, I haven't tried it but it's hard to screw up). Anyway I just know that the prices are very high. No it is not 2 story.

We found it just the opposite the last few years. We find the prices higher just like anywhere else at DLR but we had large portions(I am not a big eater) very splitable and I love to sit there and watch the people.

We did breakfast there last week and it was the same as before... I liked how the food is up front for you to see while they plate your orders.. Not sure about lunch and dinner, but breakfast was served with disposable (plastic) plates and silverware... I wasn't really paying attention to that until my oldest told me that he liked the "real" stuff better....

Well...I can't really judge since I haven't been there to experience the changes myself, but about them "serving sandwiches and salads now"...isn't that what they always served? The few times I've eaten there for lunch I always got a half turkey sandwich with clam chowder, but I can't remember what else they used to have on the menu. Was it BBQ? Do they still serve clam chowder?

The switch from real tableware to plastic bugs me. It was one of the things that was special about the place. What next, are the Plaza Inn and French Market going to get plasticware too?

I went there for dinner the other night and was NOT impressed. My wife is a vegetarian and was really looking forward to the vegetable stew and they are not serving it anymore :( The sandwiches were not bad, and the fixings bar was cool, but again, I liked it better before.

Anyone have a link to the new menu's.

yeah it was bbq...bbq chicken, ribs, beans, corn on the cob, cornbread...it was great...I used to eat the bbq over at Big Thunder Ranch when they served it from the chuck wagons and when they stopped I was upset not to be able to get it anymore until I saw they had it on the RB menu but now its plain salads and sandwiches...breakfast is still the same to the tee!!:goodvibes
