Just an FYI from someone who will be going to AK on October 17th.....as of now, Rivers of Light is only on the schedule for every other night in October, and not on the 16th. Something to keep an eye out for, if you really want to see it.

Recommend getting there early (about an hour to 1.5 before showtime). We missed out on seeing it as the "standby" line for the theater was closed off about 45 minutes before showtime and the CM's do not allow you to sit outside or stop where you are outside the theater on the walking paths to watch it. Recommend a FP+ if you can get one.

Recent changes have it on the calendar every night from October 14-31!

Like others have stated it's seating...Although I was eagerly awaiting to see this new show/area and stuff...we were a little underwhelmed by the whole thing....1st off we thought we needed to be in the FP line an hour earlier, so we did this...They seated us 45 mins. b4 the show I believe, and it was a hot day, and the rows are very close to one another. We did get that 1st row in section I , so definitely great viewing area...
The music itself was very good, but the show was slow moving and no semblance IMHO. They also had the streams of water to make the curtain for the backdrop too short....so there was a gap in the production/viewing. If you haven't seen it yet, then I do recommend seeing it at least once.... All in all not horrible ,but I think I was just hoping for something a lil more..:confused3 Either way enjoy

When did you go? How busy was the park generally? We're gong to have to stand by for ROL but won't be able to arrive until 30 mins prior. Wondering if we should just skip it and wander Pandora.

And if you are there during a hot time of year, the rows down front are thick slabs of slate that heat up during the day and sitting on them makes you feel you are in a sauna!

Aghhh Good point.....

I, personally, did not like ROL. If I had to choose between seeing Pandora at night or ROL, I would see Pandora. It was awesome.FB_IMG_1503970481805.jpg FB_IMG_1503970499705.jpg

I guess that you need to have seating to see it? There are no places along the pathways to stand and see any of it?

How do you get them from the phone to the threads?

I used the ones I posted to facebook or sent in a text. They are automatically resized. I then saved the new resized photo so I could upload it here. There is probably some quicker way but works 4 me.

We wandered in about 25 - 30 minutes before the show earlier this month. The place was mostly empty. We got front row seats (they weren't hot, like a previous person stated...maybe it had been dark enough for enough time to cool them?). Anyway, the place did get busier, but it wasn't full.

It was a nice, serene show. Not sure I would take time to see it again, but if I was close, and it was 5 minutes before it started, I might.

I say the same thing about Pandora, however ;)

I see that their are no times for River of Lights for November yet. Any reason why they would have no dates entire month.

The show is scheduled in November and December. The official disney park hours/ calendar does show it but the dining packages calendar which is probably the one your looking at makes it seem that there are no shows when in fact it's just the dining packages that have not been released.
