It would be nice if Disney would at least consider going ahead and extending the park hours at AK for that week, so people could plan. It will be daylight savings time, so dark won't be until well after 8:00 PM.

I am sure they will extend hours but likely not until it is officially announced. It appears there are going to be 3 shows a day, all after it gets dark, plus the coming night time safari, so the parks definitely will be extended

It would be nice if Disney is going to have us make ADRs 180 days in advance that the park hours were set at least 181 days in advance, but they get changed all the time so just something that is annoying but has to be dealt with

Park hours change almost daily. They will change the hours likely when an official announcement is made. ADRs will likely also be available when that announcement will be made.

I think that date will be official opening, not just soft openings. But yes, it would be convenient for those of us going during that time to have schedules posted so we could plan. I'll be there for earth day and I'm hoping ak does something more special than usual.

I think Steve made a good point on the show this week: wouldn't it be better to have a grand opening on earth day?
Not only is it AK anniversary, but it all fits in with the conservation theme (hence why the park opened on that day I assume) and it's so close to these rumored dates that it seems like a huge PR fail to do it a few days earlier

I think the change happens with the March 15th hours change and an announcement happens around then. If not, I think we won't get an announcement until April 15th and then it will be for like a Late May or Early June start. It's going to be soon folks.

While yes it makes sense it seems they are having a media event the 18-19 of April which would mean it's ready prior to the 22nd. Now I have also heard Avatar should be opening on earth day 2017. WDW anniversaries often don't get much these days.

It should definitely be ready before may or June.
