River Country & Discovery Island

I would love that I am all for as many DVC resorts as possible at Disney to be honest.

I have to think Disney is going to reach the saturation point soon with DVC properties. With the current economic trend in the US and the bottom falling out of the US real estate market, there may be some real bargains as far as DVC properties or conversion of DVC resorts to regular hotels?

I am not so sure about that especially with the number of foriegn guests buying and staying with DVC. THe numbers have grown exponetially in teh number of UK and Canadian guests buying and staying in DVC resort properties. Plus with the CDN dollar as strong as it is it is a far more attractive purchase for those of us north of the border. Not to mention they have added Hawaii to the list and they have expanded the options for trade outs which many people enjoy also.

No doubt Disney is relying heavily now on foreign visitors to keep them moving through this downward trend in our economy, but with Disney's global expansion I'm wondering if they are shooting themselves in the foot, too.

Well I guess we will never know till Disney tells us and I am sure that isn't going to be for quite some time IMHO.

Aren't those vultures that hang around there protected? After a few Kungaloosh at the Tortuga bar, they would look like a Dusky Seaside Sparrow.

They look like the same thing we have around here. Buzzards. Unless they look similar. I don't think you can shoot them or anything but I don't think they are protected like an endangered species. I will research and see what I can find.

Really? I thought one bird was still there! That is so sad. I guess I should double check my facts before I post them. I'm sorry. I'll do some more research myself, too. Wikopedia is usually right, though. Man, I loved looking at that island thinking about that bird :guilty:

No need to appologize. You taught me something I didn't know. Thanks.

I was only kidding, but if you wanna look it up, that's okay, too.

Oops. :rotfl2: Sorry I didn't realize you were just kidding. I feel like a dummy now. :upsidedow Oh well, wouldn't be the first time I felt like a dummy. :rotfl:

Probably a good 70 -80% of what I say should not be taken seriously. Someday I'll tell you how my story about Spaceship Earth nearly became an urban legend.

I will keep the 70-80% thing in mind. ;)

 I look forward to hearing the story. I am sure it is quite interesting.

There are always birds around pirates. So the birds would fit right in with the theme of the Tortuga Bar. (Disney if your reading build our bar. We have another thread covering this.)
