Rita - this is depressing

Please forgive if this is a dupe thread - saw none immediately. However, the 11am track for Rita is to become fairly strong Hurricane. Unbeliveably, three of the six computer tracks show it plowing into LA or MS. This is unbelievable, and depressing

It doesn't look good, but it can still change (hopefully). Just yesterday night, forecasters thought it was going to strengthen a little (Cat 2) and hit Mexico/Texas, and they were pretty confident with that. What a difference a day makes.

Yep, like Buck said, they go Greek. But, they don't get to z ever, next is Stan, then the T, then V, then W, then the Greek letters.

Does anyone else see (judging by the track posted here) the twisted sick irony of the people who would be sitting in the Astrodome as Rita came ashore near Houston are for the most part the same people who were sitting in the Superdome a few weeks ago when Katrina came ashore.

Oh, man...I didn't even think of that...If that doesn't make some of them decide to migrate north, I don't know what will.

I have to say that I pretty well agree with you........

Maybe not for the same reasons though. If it could hit NO and not do any more damage to any thing or anybody........that would be great!

Considering that so many evacuaees are in Texas, I really would hate to see it hit there. It is very sad indeeed! Amazing to see what the power of Mother Nature can do!!

All the people in the office were talking about how they hope it stays away from New Orleans and hits Texas instead. Great, unless you live in Texas. I would rather it hit New Orleans than Texas, No is already destroyed and very few people are there. Texas is populated!

If it hits New Orleans, it will completely flood the city again. The makeshift patches they have on the levees are not strong enough to withstand hurrican force winds. In fact, just getting too much rain may be more than they can stand at this point.

Nothing against Texas, but I hope the thing stays away from the New Orleans area entirely...or there may never again be a New Orleans.

This is unbelieveable. Just when you feel like you are starting to put it back together again...*sigh*. All we can do is sit and wait. I was supposed to be in WDW starting this Friday. If I have to run again, I swear this is where I may go. All I really want to do is head home.

I went back and read the whole thread after I posted. Two people here, I am wondering, if you saw a puppy hit by a car, would you go up to it and kick it, just in case it were not down enough??? That was wrong.
