I am booked at SSR for November with free dining however DD wants to go in January again and stay at BC for her birthday and it looks like if we do a cash booking with Disney.uk we could still get free dining, (can't afford the cash or points to go before January). DD also loved the cooler weather.

However I am worried about the weather here if it snows as Manchester Airport shut down with the snow the week before we flew out this January? It is the only thing stopping me changing my dates.

We have been a few times in Jan and this is the first year we have seen airports closed etc. Gatwick closed the day after we left this year. Airports can close at anytime of the year for various reasons I say go for it :)

There is always a risk of something happening - just look at the BA strike for example. I say plan around what you'd prefer, there will always be 'what if's'.

We were due to fly out Jan - the day all the airports closed!!! I was upset I had lost a day of our holiday but....we got there in the end (just flew out the next day). We go most years at this time of year and this is the only time we have had this issue.

I will still book for Jan 2011 so I have not been put off.

For us the cooler weather and non existent crowds more than make up for the very small chance of a problem getting there due to snow.

Thanks for your replies, after thinking about it I have decided on October/November when there is loads on however I will be booking when I can for January 2012 for my 30th birthday and DD 10th Birthday.
