I had just about decided to go for all star (music if I could get it) for dec 9-12 and remembered about Pop Warner. Should I risk it with DD5 and DH or go for a moderate. The difference in price would let us do a MVMCP or CP. Help me decide please!

If your able to do more things staying at a value then thats what I would do. It doesnt seem like it would be much fun to go and then have to miss out on the things you want to do like MVMCP or CP.

We've gone three times in early December, and stayed at the All Star Movies twice during that time - and I never knew the Pop Warner kids were there!!! We stayed in Love Bug and 101 Dalmations - both were very quiet and a short walk to the Food Court/Bus Stop. During the morning rush, the food court was busy - but we were always able to find a seat. (We weren't there for the evening rush) Bus service was great!!!

I wouldn't let Pop Warner bother me - go and have a great trip!! We'll be back Dec 8-12 - we're staying at Pop Century!! Can't wait!!!

I would stay as far away from the Pop Warner kids as possible. If I could only stay at All Starts I'd probably reschedule to a better time.

The highlight of our trip was when the pool kept getting closed for all due to the rowdiness of the kids who were basically unsupervised.

We haven't stayed at POP Century yet (soon), but for the same price, (and a little cheaper these boards say, because the tax rate is lower at POP) you could stay in a Value resort and not spend the extra money on lodging. These boards say that POP does not accomodate the larger groups, so you would not run into the distress of rowdy large groups.

What are Pop Warner kids? And how could they interupt my stay at the POP in December???? Here I was excited because I just got my AP discount for our stay. . . I hope I don't have to start all over with a new resort.

Pop Warner is the kiddie football/cheerleaders who have their "superbowl" at Disneys world of sports (?) complex Dec 5-11. They ususally stay at the value resorts. I think it is the all stars only.

I have stayed at POP twice now this year for very short trips and I love the theming of the hotel and that it is newer then the rest of the value choices. I just can't get over how loud it is. Whatever you do do not stay near the pools. Loud till about 1am and early like at 6 or 7 am. And you hear every door that closes hard and every toilet and shower.
The first stay was preferred building (never again, not worth it) near the pool 3rd floor. the second was 50s building c (I think) away from the pools not a bad walk to the front at all. I am really upset because I really would prefer POP in every catagory except for the noise.

So does anyone else have POP Warner stories at the all-stars? I cant decide.

POP Warner + All Stars = JUST SAY NO. We will never do that again....

Have a magical trip no matter what you decide.:wizard:

We were at ASMusic last year during the Pop Warner - we did not have any problems with noise. Can't say about the pool - we don't use that. We only used the food court to re-fill our mugs so I can't remember if that was over-crowded or not. We are going this year Dec 5th for 5 nights at ASSports. The savings on the room rate pays for a lot of food for the trip for us.

We stayed at Sports during pop warner...the teams practice there cheers into the evening. We were moved to another location within Sports--but my goodness, avoid it at all costs. So at minimum, avoid Sports during this time--I think since it fits most into their theming, that is where the majority of them are, hence no problems at Music or Movies for other posters.

Perhaps Pop is available and you can be away from them all together.

Lets test your theory Lisa.

Does anyone have experience with Pop Warner kids at all stars music or movies only?

Last year we were at ASMusic during pop. It was a miserable experience not only with the kids but the adults that were there to lead<?> guide<?> chaperone<?> the kids. We were moved twice during our stay. Once for a housekeeping issue and once because of the pop warner kids. Parking was atrocious. The food court was unbearable. The language used by these kids in the pools, corridors and even in the laundry room where I enjoyed about 30 of them as I did laundry and they waited and brushed their hair and practiced cheers for over 2 hours while it rained. Ever been in a closed laundry room with 30 cheerkids? I NEVER saw a chaperone in all that time but they were most likely either sitting outside their doors by the rooms either smoking and talking on cell phones, or putting down a few brewskies. Drinking is probably against the pop warner rules or at least the chaperone rules, but there was certainly a lot going of it going onjust outside the rooms. It was awful. I don't know how the kids could be expected to behave very well when the adults certainly didn't.

We did a split stay between Music and POR. POR still had a pretty big share of cheerkids, but they were well behaved, did a few cheers during daylight hours, didn't use profane language and seemed to have nice manners.

I would not consider any of the All Stars during pop warner. Just my family's experience, though. We even have changed our regular December vacation just to make sure we don't share a resort with them again!! If you plan to go value, I'd definitely try Pop Century. Not my favorite of the values, but definitely better than All Stars + pop warner.

Sorry so long. Good luck with your decision!

I am going December 8-12. I had originally planned to stay at ASMo since we plan on spending little time at our resort and my DD4 would love the theming, but when I found out it was Pop Warner time, I switched to POFQ. I considered Pop Century as well, but read on these boards that pop warner overflow could end up there as well. I don't know how true that is, but I didn't want to take the chance. Now I just have my fingers crossed that they aren't at POFQ since a previous poster mentioned they had been at POR in the past.

I can provide you with lots of information in relation to Pop Warner at WDW during first two weeks of Dec as I am a patron who frequents during this time annually, (but not at the all-star resorts) and I am also a Pop Warner Football Coach. If anyone wants additional information please PM me...

Basically during this time there are approximately 8 teams per level (4 levels) and per division (2 divisions) for football for a total of 64 teams of up to 35 players per team, same with the cheerleaders (30 per team). So during this time there are roughly 128 teams from around the country competing for a super bowl and/or national cheering title. In total Pop Warner brings 3500-4000 kids to compete, plus coaches, family & friends for an approx total of 8,000 - 10,000 guests affiliated with Pop Warner during this time. They primarily use the All Star's then overflows go to Pop Century. Sometimes this can also overflow into some of the moderate resorts (I've seen them at both CBR and PO both during different years). My guess is if the value resorts are full they use the least occupied moderate to fulfill their reservations needs.

I have had both positive and negative experiences during this timeframe when interacting with different Pop Warner groups. As with any large group of children they are as well behaved as their chaperones/guardians permit them to be or not to be...

Wow. 8-10 thousand! Maybe I will spend the extra $$ on POFQ. I really do not have a choice on dates. I had hoped that it would not be crowded in the parks.

Boston DisneyKid are the participants kept busy during this whole week with Pop Warner activities or is this a type of vacation for them or do they visit the parks certain days. Wondering how to plan for the parks.
Thanks!
