We do that drive all the time. When we're leaving around 6 am it has never yet taken us more than 45 minutes, except when it rains. My dad used to work in Anaheim so he did that drive everyday for 12 years.Plan for it to be more than 40 minutes on a weekday. I live in that relative area and it’s a 30 min drive on Saturday morning with no traffic.
We are familiar with it as we've ubered in/out of there before, but wasn't sure if Harbor Side security was worse than normal. I know Uber used to be able to drop off by downtown Disney/at the hotels, so I didn't know if it would be better to dropoff over there somewhere and come through the DTD side of security. There is a passenger drop off area off Harbor right at the entrance of Disney/CA kind of where the buses are - it’s also where Uber/Lyft/taxis pick up and drop off. My husband often drops us off there. Then your mom can directly go park the Toy Story parking lot off Harbor down the street. Good luck!
If you are getting there fairly early, I think someone was talking about getting valet parking at the Tropicana (just across the street). That might be an option that gets all of you into the park on time. We're driving in from LA (nearish El Segundo) on a weekday morning in April for an 8 am opening. We're locals and it's my birthday and my dad is dying to go.
My mom is thinking she wants to pass, is there a good spot she could drop off me, SO, and dad so we could hurry along to the line and she goes and parks? Or should we just park first? If we park first, where should we park?
it's about 40 minutes drive for us, not sure how early we should leave.
I've been to DLand a million times and know this place like my childhood bedroom, but the logistics of this new ride have me thrown. Help![]()
You can get dropped off at dtd. The old parking lot is now drop off and cast member parking. It’s also easy to get out of there and return to park the M&F parking structure. And if you go that way, If the Pixar pals structure entrance is open (same light as dtd drop off entrance), I would just pull straight into the parking structure. We are familiar with it as we've ubered in/out of there before, but wasn't sure if Harbor Side security was worse than normal. I've seen Harbor security side some extremely busy days. It's terrifying lol
Yay!In the queue with BG 27 at 8:57am - looks like a near walk on - 9:02 and we are almost to the first room before we hit an actual line. Yesterday it took us an hour and 10 minutes to get this far!
Sounds like they might be running at full capacity today. Also, I'm guessing yesterday that low numbers were camping the queue waiting for it to open, so it likely got flooded when they called that first salvo. Whatever the reason, let's hope it keeps up!In the queue with BG 27 at 8:57am - looks like a near walk on - 9:02 and we are almost to the first room before we hit an actual line. 8:30When did backup BGs run out today?
They were also not loading at full capacity when we road yesterday.Sounds like they might be running at full capacity today. I think it was when i tried to proceed from the tickets page - it was a white square popup on the page that had the generic "The Virtual Queue is being used..." text on it. I think it had an OK button at the bottom to dismiss.Sorry if that was discussed before, but what is the “explanation popup” you’re talking about, and how do you get rid of it (close it w/ an [x] button? swipe it away? ignore it and simply click on what’s behind it?). Inquiring minds wanna know...
no issues with the quick re-scan- 2 weekends in a row
I figured as much, based on the slope of the load line. Thanks for confirming. They were also not loading at full capacity when we road yesterday.
