Any news on what exactly happened with the fire, and when it might re-open?

All that is known so far is that it will be closed through the remainder of Feb.

Hopefully Ripsaw Falls will be back up and running by the time I visit at the end of May! It is a lovely water ride, not as fun as Bluto's Barges, but still crazy and if you're sitting at the front, then it will cool you off on a humid Florida afternoon!

I am wondering if IOA will give it a new lick of paint in the closure? Or maybe add/amend some of the animatronics?

I went last week and snuck a peek at some painting being done, although it was hard to tell how much was being done. The attendant told me the ride would be down for at least the next several weeks as the Dark Marauder pointed out already.

I heard elsewhere that someone called Guest Services and they said it was to reopen February 28th. Guess we will see.

I just wish they'd make those logs easier to get in and out of. I swear I almost panic every time I have to climb out of those things. I'm always afraid I'm going to get stuck.

That is a fun ride. It was so cold when we went that we debated but rode it in the end. I was in the second seat and my legs and feet got SOAKED!

Most of those low sitting rides are hard on the old knees, I struggled to get out to several at Universal and WDW too
