I had no empathy for the VC, NVA and Iraqis I popped a cap on so why should I have any for that pervert? The VC and Iraqis at least were men and deserving of a modicum of respect.

For the record: I wasn't trying to imply that I'm better than any of y'all, I was trying to show that I'm no better than MJ, or the coke addict around the corner, or anyone else. Do I want them 'dating' my 7 y.o. grandaughter? No freakin' way! But there is a difference between wanting to protect what is precious to you from evil, it is another to desire to see judgment fall... especially when we all deserve judgment.

Shan, I never thought that. I judge too much, but that's my nature and I believe in swift retribution - not always the best couse of action but given my experiences, understandable.

I am going to say this last thing and then you are more than welcome to keep attacking me all you want. All my point was is that I was shocked and disappointed in the jokes that were posted minutes after it was announced he passed away yesterday. I do not believe he was guilty of all those accusations obviously I wouldn't be defending him if I thought he was. I am the kind of person that always looks for the good in people and because it was never proven I didn't want to believe it. If it was proven, I would feel differently. At this point we can agree to disagree. I guess I just didn't expect to be personally attacked like this I was just stating my opinion about the jokes. Maybe I am wrong, maybe yall are. Anyways, I liked his music as a kid because I grew up in mtv-80's era. And also thanks for questioning me on how long I have been a part of the boards. I found the boards a couple of years ago for the same reason everyone else did trying to plan a family vacation to disney. I appreciate all the good info that is on these boards and I didn't mean to get that personal or offend anyone.

But I am of the opinion, when a person accepts money from the public to perform for, or to provide a service to the public ( IE a musician, or a politician) they forfeit their right to privacy! If the public eye becomes too much for them, then they should resign from office, or refund all the money they made being famous. With fame comes responsibility, and accountability! This applies to any public figure, star, athlete, politician etc.

MJ chose his life when he turned 18, he could have dropped out of the public eye, and never been heard from again, but he chose to do what he did.

I judge him on his PUBLIC actions, such as dangling an infant from a railing, and stating in a INTERNATIONALLY televised interview that he likes to sleep with young boys!

I don't care what anybody says, he(Michael Jackson) was a creepy little dude who had obvious problems defining his race and/or sexuality. His deep seeded identity issues created his bizarre persona. Any good singing or dancing ability can't overshadow that. Adolph Hitler was an accomplished artist. Highly doubtful very many people mourned his passing.

Larry the Cable Guy, however, is one funny dude.

I never said he was Adolph Hitler. That is a ridiculous, uneducated misinterpretation of my statement.

Certainly, you are entitled to your opinion..but SO are the people who posted the opinions that you found objectionable. I find it odd that your first post in this forum is to slap the hands and pass judgement on posters that you know nothing about. You could have shared your feelings regarding MJ's music and the like without the condesending tone implied with "I expected better from a Disney board"... I'd venture to say that a good many people here have enjoyed his music at one point or another in their lives. A good many people here also don't feel his talent or horrible upbringing are an excuse for what they feel he's done.
The idea that you were attacked.. I find that objectionable. I believe it was you who posted that you were shocked and dissapointed by the previous posters. If you feel that you were attacked for expressing your opinion, then don't reprimand others for expressing theirs. Even if you don't agree with it. If you find that the forum posters don't meet your standards.. there is an easy remedy for this. If you click on the user CP you will be able to add the names of those posters you find objectionable, and like magic..you won't hear from them any longer.
