Oh no, this is sad news, good that he lived to become a much loved iconic character. It's true that Hagrid will live on, we are just coming up on Harry Potter series season in our home. Usually we start on Halloween for the HP movies but maybe a bit early this year, rest in peace.

I am absolutely heartbroken. I just saw the other day when I was Googling Harry Potter Legos that there is some new Hogwarts animated game or something. As long as Robbie was alive, he could have done Hagrid in some way, in one of these, even if it was only his voice, if he wanted. Now, it's like the chance for Hagrid to come back is gone. (No, it's not the same someone else playing him or his voice.)

The use of AI will keep the voice of Hagrid alive, just like the voice of Darth Vader will keep going even though James Earl Jones retired from playing him.
