I got home yesterday from a week at WDW. This past Sunday, we were in the Enchanted Tiki Room, and I took my dSLR off my neck and set it in my lap. I sort of zoned out during the show and at the end, when they say to stand up, I stood up. Camera slid right off my lap and crashed, lens first, onto the brick floor. Thankfully, it's a cheap lens and it broke the fall (no pun intended :lmao: ) for the camera, which was fine.

but, what a bonehead mistake. I missed that lens through the rest of the trip :(

You have my deepest condolences. :( I am glad your camera was OK!

Lucky you. You now have an excuse to upgrade to the canon 50mm f/1.4

That's funny, because when I see that show, I feel like crashing myself, face first, into the brick floor. :crazy2: (I keep hoping they'll put it back the way it was, the Disneyland original is still fun after all these years!)

Sorry about your lens. If I'm in a situation like that, I usually either put the camera on the bag on the floor, or wrap the strap loosely around my arm.

I'm not a fan of the attraction, either. But my kids LOVE it ... although, I doubt they'll ever ask to see it again. Not after mommy's meltdown. LOL.

I'm usually much more careful. I don't know what happened.

But, it is a very good reason to look into an upgrade! :cool1:
