RIP, my nifty fifty ...

I got home yesterday from a week at WDW. This past Sunday, we were in the Enchanted Tiki Room, and I took my dSLR off my neck and set it in my lap. I sort of zoned out during the show and at the end, when they say to stand up, I stood up. Camera slid right off my lap and crashed, lens first, onto the brick floor. Thankfully, it's a cheap lens and it broke the fall (no pun intended ) for the camera, which was fine.

but, what a bonehead mistake. I missed that lens through the rest of the trip

That's funny, because when I see that show, I feel like crashing myself, face first, into the brick floor. (I keep hoping they'll put it back the way it was, the Disneyland original is still fun after all these years!)

Sorry about your lens. If I'm in a situation like that, I usually either put the camera on the bag on the floor, or wrap the strap loosely around my arm.

I'm not a fan of the attraction, either. But my kids LOVE it ... although, I doubt they'll ever ask to see it again. Not after mommy's meltdown. LOL.

I'm usually much more careful. I don't know what happened.

But, it is a very good reason to look into an upgrade!
