RIP-Leslie Jordan

I'm so, so very sad about this news. Had seen him over the years in several TV show, but really, really enjoyed his facebook stories/shorts during the pandemic. He was just a hoot. He also did Sunday morning singalongs/hymns. Just posted one yesterday. listening to his voice and accent brought me back to memories of my family sitting around and talking. his accent was just like theirs. He was always so positive, and brought such happiness and smiles.

Never heard of him - had to google his name - but it seems he played supporting/guest roles in a lot of shows I used to watch. As a short, openly gay man, he had a good career. Hope he didn't suffer.

I love Leslie Jordan. He posted videos online all the time throughout the pandemic. "Leslie Jordan, reporting for duty" and all that. It made me laugh during a time when so much heartache and difficulty was happening everywhere. He used to also say a lot of "Hello, hunker downers."

He was an amazing guy. I think he won a Grammy award this past year (?) for a country western album he recently did...or maybe he was nominated for one? He sang at the Grand Ole Opry about a year ago, too. Very talented guy. Very genuine person, never came across as the sort of person who would put on airs. He was the sort of guy that I'd love to have as a next door neighbor.

Always loved his role in one of my guilty pleasure movies as a kid, Ski Patrol. It is such a cheesy, goofball movie, but I remember watching it many, many times.

My daughter texted mom and I in a group text. I was like, who? She says from Will and Grace. Oh wow, I thought it was the young main character guy, I guess that would be Will.

I just googled and no, it's no one I recognize. But it's a little odd reading your post mentioning he is gay (why it was brought up like you did is weird, but...) and I thought it was the guy who played a gay guy on the show.

His status as a gay man was often the source of his own jokes.

At the age of 67 in the South, it was not common in much of his lifetime to be 'out'. And being out and very short could have stymed his career in his life.

He was just himself through and through and so down to earth you really couldn't help but like him..

Very sad. I wasn’t really aware of him until the pandemic and then I saw some clips of him “hunkering down”. Funny man. Wasn’t he caring for his elderly mother? I think he called her mama. My heart goes out to her.

Really?
People are upset about the untimely passing of an entertainer and your primary concern is that we be informed that you didn't know who he was?

You are sitting on the internet. Use it.

Vernon Jordan I knew. Leslie? Never heard of him. Vernon was a great man and helped push civil rights in this country. RIP
