You may remember him from Disney's Tron and Mary Poppins Returns, my favorite version of The Christmas Carol (with George C Scott), Time Bandits, Time After Time, The Omen, Ninja Turtles 2: Secret of the Ooze, and even Titanic. He also appeared on Twin Peaks, Dark Shadows, and Doctor Who!

RIP, David Warner.

A Christmas Carol. One of the few instances when he wasn't a screen villain.

One of the first roles I saw him in was as the sanctimonious slimeball Mr. Blifil, nemesis to Albert Finney's title character in the 1963 bawdy romp "Tom Jones".

He also played Jack the Ripper in the awesome 1979 time-travel film "TIme After Time".

Loved Time After Time! Possibly the first time I've seen him on screen.

Oh my goodness, I didn‘t recognize his name, but his face! I ONLY know him as Bob Cratchit from my absolute favorite version of “A Christmas Carol”. RIP, sir.

I also loved him as Bob Cratchit. It was such a change of pace from the villains he played so convincingly. RIP indeed.

Like my sister said, you have to really be in awe of an actor who can play Bob Cratchit AND Jack the Ripper and be able to pull off both roles perfectly!!

So true. Aside from Warner, Gary Oldman is the only other actor who portrays multiple villains and yet takes a shot at Bob Cratchit (in the bizarro Robert Zemeckis Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey).

he was absolutely the best thing in Time Bandits. And in Time After Time. I believe his Jack the Ripper role was a fictional composite of two or three actual persons who were put forth as suspects over the years.

He had 3 guest starring roles in Star Trek projects, the most remembered of which would probably be Klingon Chancellor Gorkon in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. He also played Ambassador St. John Talbot in Star Trek V and the Cardassian Gul Madred in an episode of Star Trek TNG where he gets to torture Patrick Stewart.

Oh! I forgot about him as a Klingon. I remember ST VI but missed the TNG episode.

Speaking of Warner in makeup, he was also an ape in Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes.
