Actually saw him compete at the U.S. Senior Open quite a few years back. He was quite generously entertaining the galleries -- and was still playing some really great shots.

I used to watch him all the time when he was playing the regular tour and then again when he played on the senior tour. What an entertainer and generally a nice guy. Good player too! He was also very active philanthropist in his home country of Puerto Rico.

I don't follow sports, but I'll never forget the character Les Nesman on "WKRP in Cincinatti" calling him "Ki Ki Rodwigueez." I'm sure ChiChi enjoyed that little bit of fandom too. It certainly introduced a bunch of us who didn't know of him to his name because it was so outrageous.

RIP, Chi Chi. My dad was a big fan of his. I remember him having a little newspaper photo of Chi Chi on his office cork board along with several other sports heroes.
