CHAPTER 4 – DISNEY VACATION CLUB
TEMP - 65 ° F ORLANDO, FLORIDA
We exited the airport and were greeted with sunny, but brisk Florida weather. It was a nice change from chilly Windsor. We drove down the highway and were ecstatic when we saw this little guy; it’s always nice to see a familiar face.
Luckily our stop at Port Orleans Riverside was this first stop on the Magical Express. Danielle and Dad waited for the luggage so Dad wouldn’t be part of the mad rush for check-in; he liked to pace himself for this trip on account of his illness. Mom and I went to check into our rooms. When we got inside there was a bit of a line up, even for the online check-in we waited about 20 minutes. While we waited in line, Dad and Danielle took some pictures of the large tree in the Port Orleans Riverside lobby.
Once it was our turn to check-in, Mom and I clarified our room location, that they were in fact refurbished, and that they were adjoining. We asked numerous times and got a 'yes' on all accounts. When we got to the rooms we discovered that 2 out of 3 wasn’t bad, I guess. When we asked for adjoining we meant that they adjoined together, not just that our rooms had doors to someone else’s room in which if we chose could be adjoining. We were in Alligator Bayou - Building 38. We headed through the beautiful scenary at the Port Orleans resort as fast as our little legs could carry us. Dad paused for some pictures. Danielle spent her time chatting it up with the Disney Vacation Club guy, she just asked one small question and then all of a sudden he is trying to sell her the whole package. When we finally rescued Danielle it was time to go to our room, the Vacation Club guy was disappointed to see her go.
Stay tuned for the fabulous room pictures.
