Hey MeMom, I just got all caught up. I've been off the DIS for a few weeks. My aunt(my mom's sister, Josh and Jeremy's mom) passed away last tuesday at the age of 58. We found out at the beginning of March that she wasn't going to make it. She had cancer and she was in really bad shape and couldn't even get out of bed. She's had cancer 4 different times, starting in 1994. She was so, so strong and kept fighting right until her last breath. We got a call last Sunday night saying that she probably wouldn't make it through the night. We got to the hospital around 1 AM(technically Monday morning) and she held on until Tuesday morning at 6:25. We were at the hospital for around 30 hours.
We had the funeral on Saturday, and it's amazing how many people were there. She touched a lot of lives. I'm glad she's not in pain anymore. She was suffering so much. But this has been really hard on all of us. My poor grandma had to go to her oldest daughter's funeral. I hate that Kazin and Caleb won't get to know their grandma. And I lost my amazing aunt. We were really close. Jeremy told me the other day that I was like the daughter she never had.
There is one good thing that came out of this. I think it brought us all closer. Especially those 30 hours in the hospital.
And now it's time for a happy paragraph!
We're all getting back into our normal routines now. I think we all felt better after the funeral, because it was such a nice service. I spent almost the entire reception with Kazin
His grandpa conveniently wanted a baby break once Kazin was eating a chocolate chip cookie and had chocolate all over his face and hands
He's walking now. We were walking around for a while and he was holding my finger in his little hand
Anyway, now that my life has calmed down again, I'll be resuming my TR this week!
