Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

Loved the MK parade update MeMom! I think we stood in the same exact spot, only on different days! :)

So glad you got to see your sweet babies this past weekend. But did I understand correctly....The Disney store at Cool Springs is closing? Do you know a final close date for it? I need to go up there and grab some bargains!

I'm home enjoying a surprise snow day! How about Jill 1 hour to my east? Any snow for her?

Okay, I'm all caught up! :surfweb:

I can't believe another Disney store is closing. :sad1: That's so sad. I always loved stopping in at ours to get a little "fix". Looks like there are some really cute clothes!

What a fun day with your girls. :cutie:

I thought I posted this morning but it isn't there, so I hope this isn't a repeat.

I am caught up now. I love your parade pictures and agree with RinkyTink that the parade seems much better during the daylight. There are so many details I missed at the MVMCP parade so am so glad you took those awesome pictures.

Did I miss something??? Is Cool Springs Disney Store closing too - I hope not

Sounds like you had a great mini visit with your girls on Saturday.

Beautiful parade pictures , first time I have ever noticed Christopher Robin w/ Pooh & The Gang .

Loved all the pictures of your girls shopping trip! Looks like it was a lot fun ! Even though the Disney Store was closing :(

I have to remember that Disney Cake Boss show. I have seen it advertised, but the guy looks kind of ornery to me, and I don't enjoy that kind of entertainment. I will try to watch it since it is Disney, of course.

ray and i constantly have the TV either on TLC or the food network, so i've seen this show quite a few times. i think a lot of it is set up (i.e., a bride coming in to see her cake and not liking it, so taking colored icing and ruining it while he's out of the room - who really does that???). but i will say that he and his crew make AMAZING cakes! i'm definitely watching the disney episode tonight! it showed a little girl hugging belle and ariel, he and his family walking down main street and him trying to make a cake in some kitchen at disney, so i'm sure it will be worth watching, even if it is set up!

It's fun to have a house filled with people you love. Little ones are cute together. I am glad you enjoyed that special family time.

I am also excited that your trip is so close. It will surely brighten up a cold winter to be down there in the sunshine and beautiful palm trees, flowers, and greenery.

::yes:: I LOVE spending time with my family. We only have everyone together like that a few times a year so it was really nice yesterday. We all see each other but because of our different schedules it's hard to get everyone together at the same time. It was even more fun because it was a surprise :upsidedow

Yes! As much as I love the winter(it's my favorite season!) and the snow, I'll be happy to be able to walk outside without a coat for a week :)

Speaking of snow, we're supposed to get a lot of it Wednesday and Thursday. They're already talking about snow days. I would love that BUT, not if it prevents Megablocks from getting to Disney!

MeMom you geting snow yet? We have got about 8 inches so far.
I figured out how to resize my pics. Here is Ty today in the snow.

The Samantha Brown show is on Wed. 2/10/10 on the Travel Chanel. It's at 8:00 PM here.

Check out www.bartlett-sloan.net/tv and sign up for their weekly email. It gives all the Disney shows for that week. There's one on the Wilderness Lodge this week too (Wed. 2/10 from 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM)!

Thanks. I will try to remember that. It won't hurt my feelings if you treat me like a forgetful person and remind me again on Wednesday afternoon. :)

I know about the Bartlett-Sloan thing, but I just forget about it until someone mentions it. Is the WL one new? I have some Samantha Brown shows taped, but I can't remember if I have a WL one.

I refer you back to the previous bold statement. :rotfl:

Yes, that store is also closing. Write to the Disney Store people about it. I did. :thumbsup2 I asked them to please consider putting one of the new interactive stores in Nashville in the future. They originally said Feb. 21, so I guess that's what it is. If you go out there the 20th, let us know. Jill will be here, so we might come out and meet you there.

Yeah, we will be able to meet at the Rainforest Cafe and pretend we're in Animal Kingdom, but then we won't get to go to the Disney Store and pretend we're in World of Disney.

This is sadly correct. Do you want to try to go on the 20th if MHTeacher goes out there and Jill is able to be here?

You know just going to the mall is an adventure for us. ;)

I'll watch it tonight for the Disney content, but honestly, so many of the TLC shows these days just aggravate me. It is becoming the National Enquirer of TV. Everything is so much drama, and a lot of it is at the expense of families. I watch a couple of TLC shows, but none of those with all the conflict and chaos. I don't thrive on that stuff at all!

I saw that Toddlers and Tiaras show one night. They ought to be ahsamed of themselves for giving air time to those mothers. Those women are psychos!

They are saying snow for us tonight and tomorrow night. I want Meg to get off safely and enjoy a warm Disney trip. I haven't looked at a ten day Orlando forecast, so I don't know what is in store for her. You guys are meeting up, right?

I bet he enjoyed this!
When I came in a little bit ago, it was snowing, but I didn't see it sticking. I think it's just supposed to do a little bit tonight but be washed away by rain tomorrow. Then tomorrow night we have more snow in the forecast, but I will be very surprised if we get another snow like we did last time.

You're assuming I would remember to remind you...

I'm not sure about the Wilderness lodge show. It seems like I've seen it before, but I don't really remember it :rolleyes1 I think I'll set the VCR to record it - if I can find the remote. Trent can tell you, we have a little problem finding our remotes! I have about 6 for the TV - I leave them all around so I don't have to go hunting for them. I still haven't found the one that goes to the DVD player.

More snow for you guys? Wow!

We will get out of Boston safely! A couple of hours ago, the local news stations changed the forecast to a "classic Nor'easter" on Wednesday, but it's not supposed to start till late in the morning, like 11 AM, which is such a relief. One station was saying 6-10 inches, but another was saying 10-15 inches. I texted Katie earlier to tell her and commented that everyone will LOVE me for just escaping the snow. :rotfl2: Kailyn was asked to work tomorrow because they know it's going to be insane. It doesn't matter that we live in Massachusetts, people still get nuts.

We're hopefully meeting up on our last night and Christine's first. I said I'd be the crying girl with the so-called Boston accent. :)

yeah, i hear ya. we used to watch jon and kate before it got crazy. those kids are just so adorable. ray watches BBQ pitmasters because he likes watching how they do all the cooking. i just crack up at how some of them are potty mouths! we watch cake boss every now and then. i like to watch say yes to the dress just to see the dresses. but the amounts of money people spend on some of those dresses is just CRAZY! and as far as toddlers and tiaras, i do admit to watching it sometimes. not regularly, but sometimes. it's like a train wreck....i can't look away. i'm only human! i told ray one time while we were watching it, "if you want to be a good mom, just watch this show and do the OPPOSITE of that!!!"

As she said, it looks like the snow won't start until after she's gone :thumbsup2

I'm also hoping we don't have snow next Tuesday! Right now it says snow showers, but I have an early flight so hopefully I'll avoid those. It's really too early to have an accurate forecast.

It looks like it's gonna be in the high 60's most of the week down there. Much better than the 20's and 30's we've been having here :)

::yes:: Assuming I don't have any flight delays, we'll be meeting up on my first day!

We actually live in the same area so I'm sure we'll be able to have more DIS meets!

More snow on the way for you, MeMom??? Okay, I know I said I was all set on snow for the year, but I am going to retract that statement. I am beginning to feel like the girl that never gets asked to dance. :lmao:

We went to bed last night with the weatherman saying 4-8 inches and woke up with barely a dusting....
Districts around us closing with snow like crazy....
Again our snow shield was up!
Conferences start tomorrow evening. Just 2 more days with kids this week...
Looking forward to our 4 day weekend!

I have always said the one thing I know I am good at is forgetting! :)

I'll tape it again, anyway. I'd rather have 2-3 copies than not have it at all. Besides, I'll probably be able to find it when I want to watch it if I have more than one copy. :)

This Trent you speak of...is this the boy I am about to disown because he is flaunting the fact that he is going to be in Animal Kingdom on Sunday?

This is me listening to Trent this week.

Yeah, it looks like an inch or two. It was enough to ice the roads, so we're getting another snow day.

Yes, definitely be the OPPOSITE of those people. They are disgusting.

High 60's is sounding good. I hope all goes well with everyone's flights. :thumbsup2

We've had some fun DIS meets in our area, too.

We're getting another snow day, CP! This is highly unusual. We never get all of ours, much less go over.

I know the feeling about the shield. That is usually us, but this year, we've had our share. I have never known us to go over the five days, but today is number 6. The unfunny thing is, we will have to make it up. It won't affect me, because I don't have end of the year plans, but it will affect some. Most of them will probably just go on and leave for vacations anyway, though, so it probably won't truly, truly bother a lot of people. The worst part of it for our families is finding childcare for those who have to go to work.

Yes, that would be the one :goodvibes I might just show up at Animal Kingdom and follow them around, they probably need a chaperone :rotfl: I think that would go over well, don't you! Happy Valentines Day to me :cool2:

We're getting another snow day, CP! This is highly unusual. We never get all of ours, much less go over.

Enjoy your snow day! You might want to spare a thought for poor, little me today :guilty: -- I had to be here at 7:15 to tutor (no one showed, but I get paid extra so I know Mickey appreciates that ;)), I have a bunch of Powers-That-Be from Central Office coming to observe me teach writing at 8:30 this morning (the new writing program the county has adopted is so low-level for my kids, it's ridiculous, and I really hope someone asks my opinion of it), and tonight is parent conference night until 8:00. So I have a jam-packed 13-hour day. I was kind of hoping the snow would dip just a little farther south and eliminate this day for me.

I played on joke on my mom one time about this. There was this HBO special called Living Dolls and it was just like this show. It followed a young girl, who was like 5 or 6, and her mom. It was just the mom, older brother (who was in and out of detention) an older sister and a baby brother, along with the little "beauty queen" daughter. The mom said she spent over $100,000 on her little girl to be in pageants. Well, I got my mom to watch it and afterwards when she called me totally disgusted (all she could think of was JonBenet) I told her, "I can't wait to have a little girl so I can do that too!!!!!!!!" There was complete silence on the phone and she said, "You will never EVER do that to a girl. I will forbid it!! It is awful the way those parents treat them!"
I had to interrupt her before her blood pressure got high!! :rotfl:
But I was totally kidding with her!

Shoot, those little girls wear more makeup than me and thats saying a lot!!! :rotfl:

I hope the weather is nice for them.

Sorry about the long day. I know you will be glad to hit the bed tonight.

We do the Lucy Caulkins Writing Program. What do you guys do?

I think I was just in shock as I watched. They were just so starved for attention - the mothers, that is. They think they're some sort of 'stars' or something (something like Kate Gosselin came to think of herself), and I'm sitting here thinking how pathetic and sad they look. One little blonde girl was just already obnoxiously into herself talking about the man judge, like she knew she needed to make eyes at the man judge more, etc. That's a little scary. She was like 7-8 years old, maybe, and she was flirting it up with the man judge. Afterward, she was talking about how great she was. I don't know. I see a hard way to go for her, and she surely will not live a normal childhood by any stretch of the imagination. I watched quite a bit of that show, just in disbelief, but that was enough for me. What little TV I do watch will not be including that, I know.

Little girls putting on make-up ad having fashion shows at home, that's normal, but the extent these people go to is wild. Half of the little girls were whining and crying at some point during the preparation anyway!
