Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

I thought Jill might be able to load some more pictures this morning before she left, and since I have the day off, I could do an update. I didn't realize she had to go in early, so she wasn't able to. So, in lieu of that, I'll put up some more of Drew's pictures until she gets a chance to put on more. Plus, she still has to show you the Tiana meet, which has pictures and video. :thumbsup2

I like the way the water is reflecting onto the boat in this one.

This makes me feel warm on a snowy morning.

Back at Pop.
He was obviously trying to get a particular lighting or something here on/from the bridge, since he has so many. I'm not sure what he needed, but I hope one of them worked for him.

Yesterday, his assignment was taking pictures of fruit. He made a banana, an apple, and some kiwi look pretty amazing.

These are the kinds of things he does at home.

More Disney from Drew's perspective to come during lulls in the TR, but I'll sign off with this one.

Have a Happy Snow Day. I am off to Bible Study all the snow seems to miss Atlanta this year. We just get rain and more rain.

Drew's pictures are wonderful as usual, I know you are proud.

Yes, that store is also closing. Write to the Disney Store people about it. I did. :thumbsup2 I asked them to please consider putting one of the new interactive stores in Nashville in the future. They originally said Feb. 21, so I guess that's what it is. If you go out there the 20th, let us know. Jill will be here, so we might come out and meet you there..

We will have no students on the 19th, for a SACS teacher work-day, so the 20th could be a possibility. Now I'm starting to think, "DDs and I could go up Friday evening, spend the night, shop, make a girls overnight trip of it....." I'll let you know! :)

Snow day here too... day three. The problem is it is still coming. Even DH is on his way home soon... closed at 9:30.

Love the pictures... I have no camera talents so Drew's pictures are extra treats...

We do writing workshop with Lucy Calkins too... or at least we used to. Now we barely teach writing, after all the workshops, week long seminars in NY with Lucy too.

I watched the Cake Boss this morning... I am a bit obsessed with where the shows stay. I could not figure it out for sure, saw them baking perhaps at POFQ, delivering at the Yacht club, and birthday party at the GF. It was a nice taste of Disney.

Drew's pictures are very nice! I like the pics of the bridge. And wouldn't it be nice to be in that boat with the GF behind you? :cloud9:

It's a cold rainy day here. Poor Clay had to fly to Bowling Green, OH yesterday. His flight was late leaving Charlotte due to mechanical problems and he missed his connecting flight in Detroit. He ended up renting a car at Detroit airport and driving the rest of the way. He called me this morning and said it was already snowing there and it was cold. He's not a happy boy! Girl Scout cookies have arrived so I've got to pick up Hannah's cookie orders later. I can't wait to get my Do-Si-Dos!

Our writing program is called Writing Destinations. I wish we used Lucy Caulkins' program -- I remember reading her stuff in undergraduate school.

 Snow Day for me too!

Love all the pics in this update. I wish I was on that boat on the Seven Seas Lagoon right now! :cloud9:

Woo! More Pop pics! I'm getting more and more excited!

Here she goes again! Lucky girl!
You and David this time?

Yep! David turns 18 on the 18th, and we are Wilderness Lodging from the 17-20. Just a short trip and than we have the 6 month wait until August!! We've talked several times how we don't know if we'll make it, but i'll be posting a Pre-TR when we come back later this month!

I played on joke on my mom one time about this. There was this HBO special called Living Dolls and it was just like this show. It followed a young girl, who was like 5 or 6, and her mom. It was just the mom, older brother (who was in and out of detention) an older sister and a baby brother, along with the little "beauty queen" daughter. The mom said she spent over $100,000 on her little girl to be in pageants. Well, I got my mom to watch it and afterwards when she called me totally disgusted (all she could think of was JonBenet) I told her, "I can't wait to have a little girl so I can do that too!!!!!!!!" There was complete silence on the phone and she said, "You will never EVER do that to a girl. I will forbid it!! It is awful the way those parents treat them!"
I had to interrupt her before her blood pressure got high!! :rotfl:
But I was totally kidding with her!

Shoot, those little girls wear more makeup than me and thats saying a lot!!! :rotfl:

you are cruel! :rotfl:

I think I was just in shock as I watched. They were just so starved for attention - the mothers, that is. They think they're some sort of 'stars' or something (something like Kate Gosselin came to think of herself), and I'm sitting here thinking how pathetic and sad they look. One little blonde girl was just already obnoxiously into herself talking about the man judge, like she knew she needed to make eyes at the man judge more, etc. That's a little scary. She was like 7-8 years old, maybe, and she was flirting it up with the man judge. Afterward, she was talking about how great she was. I don't know. I see a hard way to go for her, and she surely will not live a normal childhood by any stretch of the imagination. I watched quite a bit of that show, just in disbelief, but that was enough for me. What little TV I do watch will not be including that, I know.

Little girls putting on make-up ad having fashion shows at home, that's normal, but the extent these people go to is wild. Half of the little girls were whining and crying at some point during the preparation anyway!

i saw that episode. that little girl was REALLY into herself and when she kept talking about the male judge liking her i wanted to vomit....so sick!!! and what's really sad is that she won, so she was rewarded for her behavior...at least in her mind.

have you seen the ones that wear flippers (fake teeth)? COMPLETELY FRIGHTENING!!!

LOVE the pics from the pop bridge! and the ones he took of the bikers are great, too!

This untrained eye thinks Drew is quite talented! Here's hoping he gets to have the career he is wanting!

another snow day in Iowa too...this is getting OLD! We have so much snow on the ground I'm worried about what will happen when it all actually starts to melt :scared: Last time I was at Disney, there was record flooding going on. (it sure is odd to turn on the news in Orlando and see them reporting from familiar towns) I sure hope the same thing doesn't happen in May

We went to bed last night with the weatherman saying 4-8 inches and woke up with barely a dusting....
Districts around us closing with snow like crazy....
Again our snow shield was up!
Conferences start tomorrow evening. Just 2 more days with kids this week...
Looking forward to our 4 day weekend!

Wigdoutdismom, I just saw your ticker and it looks like our trips start on the same day at the same hotel!

Drew's pics are really great...the bridge ones at sunset are really pretty!

I did the same thing with Cake Boss Laura! I thought it was odd that they'd use a kitchen at POFQ since they do not have a table service in the hotel anymore. All of the Cincy area seems to be closed today, except for my hubby's office. He works in car insurance claims so this is like the most important time of year to be staffed. You can imagine how happy it makes the spouses of said people!

Hope you are enjoying the extra time off MeMom!

Awww...loved all the pictures!! Another great update!!! I wish I could have a snow day...but without the snow LOL! I'm battling a sinus infection so I have been terrible keeping up with all my subscriptions LOL!

Enjoy your snow days everyone!! We have snow, icy and frigid temps here in MN. Brrr!

I love Drew's photos! They are gorgeous and deserve to sit in frames. Wow! :)

I agree about a lot of the reality junk on tv. My girls and I have watched Toddler and Tiaras together before. We are equally appalled. I'm so glad they know that isn't normal behavior.

Drew's pictures are GREAT! I think he will make a wonderful photographer someday. Is he interesting in doing portraits or wildlife/scenery for magazines or what? I took a photography class last spring and would love to take another. You can learn so much even if you don't plan on being a professional.

I have to comment on your reality TV philosophy! :worship::worship::worship: I absolutely agree. There is NO reality TV in this house. I think it is one of many factors that is ruining our society. It is such a shame to me to see that junk filling up people's homes and heads. Nothing about those shows is TRUE reality! I just hate that junk with a passion!

Sorry for ranting. That's one of my soap box topics.

At one point he said it was a test kitchen for them... and that makes sense that they would have a kitchen not in demand at POFQ.

Xavier closed at 9:30. Stupid since the workday and classes starts at 8:30. He got home around 1- stayed to do some work. Now the girls and he are outside... the girls are currently okay, but were fighting over shovels about a half an hour ago.

This is sadly correct. Do you want to try to go on the 20th if MHTeacher goes out there and Jill is able to be here?

You know just going to the mall is an adventure for us. ;)

We may have friends coming in town that weekend, but don't know for sure yet. If they don't, I would love to meet you all. Just let me know as it gets closer.

I'm so sorry to read your other Disney Store is closing as well! Looked like a very nice reason to get together with you 3 favorite girls for a great afternoon though! :goodvibes

I guess the solution to our 'no more Disney Store' dilemma will just have to be going to Disney World more often! :thumbsup2

Exactly! ::yes:: And you'll have more money for souvies in the World due to the closed stores!

Everybody keep Henry in your thoughts and prayers. I saw on Brook's FB that he has RSV. She said he'll be fine after another day or two, but you know he is not our active, smiling Henry right now. Hopefully, he can sleep through the rest of it and be up and at 'em soon.

Also, keep k_reile in mind as she is in WDW experiencing Caleb's first trip! :cheer2:

Thank you for your prayers! As you might have noticed on FB, the doctor called back and after reviewing his chest x-rays again, they DID find pneumonia. So, he's battling both that and RSV. :sad1: This is the first time he's ever been on medication aside from Motrin...it's strange to have my baby so sick! But, today is MUCH better. He ate a bit of food and has been more active than yesterday. He's talking and interacting a lot. :thumbsup2 I'm suspecting tomorrow he'll be even better!

Love Drew's pictures....beautiful! The first one of the woman is my favorite - excellent lighting and shadows in that one! He is so talented.

Enjoy your snow days everyone!! We have snow, icy and frigid temps here in MN. Brrr!

Did you guys have closed schools yesterday? We did here, and Joe worked from home. Today school was late, and Joe and his co-worker braved the roads to Plymouth. It usually takes about an hour to get there from our house, but today took over 1.5 hours. I'm SO GLAD it finally stopped snowing!

You and Drew should just start a family photography business MeMom!

I love the cute pictures of the girls at the mall! It's sad that so many Disney stores are closing. I always hoped we would get one here but the closest are either in Toronto or Michigan! Generally it's Michigan for me since the one at Great Lakes Crossing is the outlet! It doesn't have many of the Fancy fixtures but the prices make up for it!
