Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

OH memom those pics of the castle in the morning were absolutely amazing!!!! I wonder if I will ever get to Disney in Dec. It seemed awfully chilly that morning....love the girls all bundled up!!!

You should definately get a print of that castle picture to put in a frame, it's gorgeous!

Great update. Love all the pics. Took one for my backgrund on the laptop. Glad you did not get too much snow. Jarvis-such a great guy!

I was thinking the same thing about Monday. This isn't going anywhere today. I saw precip for Monday night at one point, but I guess that could have changed. Stay safe!

I would almost bet $$$ that you will have another free day on Tuesday!! It's supposed to be right at 40, but I could see some of those tree covered roads not getting clear. Looks like we might have some more snow flakes Sat/Sunday.....but hopefully that won't mess up much!! The private schools closed tomorrow surprise me some too....even my alma mater is going in 2 hrs late.....we NEVER closed!!!

Also, I get my weather info from the weather channel....I never pay attention to our local news weather. They seem to always be incorrect. One thing I definitely don't understand is TWC had our high predicted today at 37 and the local was saying 29 or 30....why such a difference??? :confused3 I don't get it!!

How many snow days do you guys have built in?? Assume they stretch the year once you go over?? Man it's been awhile since we've had to deal with that!

Love the early am pic of the castle!!! Boy you were up early!! I thought I was an early bird but I think you have me beat!!:)

How very thoughtful of Jarvis to check on you. Glad you got your snow day. Maybe tomorrow too??? It is very cold here this weekend but actually warmed up to 30 degrees today. It was very strange to hear about all you southern folks talking about snow & it is usually us northerners talking about it. Glad to hear the kids got to enjoy some sledding. I myself am ready for Spring:rolleyes1

I am one of the earliest of the early birds. My body just won't let me sleep late - Saturdays, snow days, Disney days; it just wants to be awake when it gets somewhere in the three o'clock hour.

I did not expect Jarvis to call. That was very thoughtful. I think his mom did a good job raising him ins spite of that prime rib episode!

The kids here have had a blast sliding around in the snow. I have enjoyed many FB pictures of the kids just having the time of their lives. We get something like this every 4-5 years, so it will be a memorable time for them.

I am ready for spring, too! ::yes::

That was really sweet of Jarvis to see if you needed anything. The castle is beautiful in the morning shots! I love the one of Walt & Mickey in front of it. Looks like it must have been a bit chilly while you were there!

The mornings and evenings were cool, for the most part. The daytimes were warm enough, and one day it was warm enough that the girls swam for a while.

I think that was NY day when I went out without them. We had stayed up NYE and it caught up with them but I am a seasoned professional :rotfl:
I wait until I get home to catch up on sleep.

I made sure we hit it again together on Saturday. I think the only thing they missed was the Boardwalk lobby. I caught all 3 resorts lobby decorations Fri night and we only hit YC and BC on Sat as we changed parks. We filled up mugs at BC. :)

I remember some kids "sleeping while eating" times. My kids could pass out most anywhere. I remember having mine do the head bob as I try to get a few more mouthfuls of food in.

I need to try to see if I can clear our driveway in case I have to go anywhere before this all melts.

I agree, sleeping can be done some other time!

Sadly, I didn't make it to Boardwalk or Beach Club for Christmas pictures this time. I love to see the resorts at Christmas. I think I have pictures of every resort's Christmas decorations from one trip or another except Yacht Club.

You girls are such early birds! I love it. I am too. :) You can get a ton accomplished before the large crowds roll in. I always wondered why that statue was called the Partners statue. Now I know why!

We've always been very pleased with being able to walk onto rides, doing them again if we want, getting in five or six or seven things before a mid-morning snack, and then heading out of the park as the masses are coming in.

Disney World is beautiful in December. The girls would love the decorations and the special parade and all of the Christmas souvenirs.

I will be getting a print of that one at some point. The lights on the castle along with the red around the statue did make for a pretty picture.

The snow slushed up a bit yesterday and refroze, so right now it's all thick ice out there.

I took some trash out a few minutes ago, and my driveway is a thick, solid sheet of ice. I just heard it was supposed to be in the 40's today. We have one more free day. After that, we have to start making them up. They may have school and just do one of those 'Driver's Discretion' warnings. They will excuse any children that buses can't make it to.

So since it snowed 6 inches on the weekend, our township didn't send out many plows...since it would be double time pay...so now its Monday and we have a one-hour delay today. That's it. It's 27 degrees out right now at 7 am...how much warmer will it be in an hour??? Our roads are trecherous. Ack...I don't wanna go to school today :sad2:

OK vent over....but I am jealous of your day off....hopefully it will warm up enough to day to melt all this stuff!!!! Oh and here's a pic of the girls!

Let's ride along with Buzz and see what we can do to keep Zurg in his rightful place.

This is a picture of some special Fastpasses we had been given by praisehisname. She had gotten them on her earlier trip and had not used them, so she offered to send them to us. They would be used later when we had all the guys with us, but I wanted to get a picture while we were thinking of it.

IMG_2418.jpg

Thanks, Denise, for your kindness! :)

Jill, Bella, and I waited while John and Brooklynn rode again.

Bella had some fun behind bars.

Then big sister came off the second ride and joined in.

IMG_2435.jpg

So, we had ridden Peter Pan, I think we did that twice, and Dumbo, and Buzz twice for Brooklynn. Jill decided it was time for breakfast, and everyone was agreeable to that.

I guess we're just not equipped down here to get back into action so quickly. They plow the main roads, but with all of the hilly, curvy roads covered with ice, we just have to wait for it to melt away.

I wish you could have had a snow day, too. Did you see my question on FB about making Bella one of those Mickey cupcake shirts?

I just love the prison shots! Shame on you two for making those precious girls do time!:lmao:

I have to admit that I am sooooooooooo green with envy that you got to the MK so early. We really have to work on our morning person skills.

Wow that really stinks. Drive safely. I can't believe they make you go out in that mess. If we had gotten that, our schools would be closed for a week.

We now have a 'system' for getting our Main Street Bakery treats. Since we have discovered our secret place, which we will share only with you, this is the way we work things. I will go to the secret place with Bella and some of the gear we have with us - stroller, bags, blankets, etc. Brooklynn goes with us depending on her mood. Sometimes she wants to go, and sometimes she wants to help pick out the goodies. That leaves Jill and John free hands to carry the trays.

So we parted ways at the door of MSB and kept going, toward our secret place. :)

Goofy tipped his hat to us as we went by.

The time was now:

Bella and I waited.

This is the theater room which is almost always empty or maybe has a handful of people in it.

IMG_2444.jpg

Brooklynn was asking this CM about when and where we would find Tiana.

IMG_2448.jpg

Breakfast.

IMG_2449.jpg

Brooklynn is fascinated by these old cartoons.

IMG_2454.jpg

Remember Sebastian came along with us this time, since he had been left behind in October. He didn't make an appearance very often, but this day he came out of my bag to watch cartoons, too. Note that although there is only one other person in the theater, she chose to sit right in front of him!

IMG_2455.jpg

This is a good place to meet characters. This morning, we were honored to have the company of Miss White.

IMG_2457.jpg

IMG_2458.jpg

She left quite an impression on Bella.

IMG_2465.jpg

I can't believe you have another snow day today! Enjoy!

Bella is too cute even in the clutches of the evil Emperor Zurg -- love that hat!

Brooklyn sitting in front of Sebastian cracked me up!

The breakfast goodies look delicious -- I will gladly help eat that chocolate croissant!

More shots around this area.

We plan to have a Toy Story party in June to celebrate the new movie.

I spy a "not so hidden" MeMom in those Buzz piccies! Did the wrong person get hidden as Jill is well hidden! :rotfl:

Love the Main Street Bakery piccies. It reminds me that we have never been there before other than to look! A must do for our trip next year!

My brother and his family have decided not to come with us next year - they think it will cost too much money as their kids are over 12yrs now so classed as adults and it hikes up the cost a lot.

We are all very sad they won't be joining us, but the silver lining is that the remaining bunch who are going are true Disney lovers (my brother is NOT!) so I can properly plan some Disney fun!!!

xxx

P.S. Here in Hampshire in the UK, we had a tiny sprinkling of snow again!

It is really worth getting there early at least once during your trip. You can get so much done in such a short time. I know most people consider sleeping late a big perk to being on vacation, though. That's understandable.

Awwww! That is too cute! Have a good snowday MeMom! It's super cold up here, but our roads are clear....time to start another week!

I figure we'll be back tomorrow. I am enjoying the time to get some things done around the house and to just do nothing - I alternate between the two all day long. :)

We have one more day. After that, we would have to start making them up. It is so very rare that we get snow days at all, so we are all very happy about it.

Jill has a hard time choosing between cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissants, and apple turnovers. Sometimes we get one of each so she can have a few bites of all of her favorites. The leftovers go with us in my now famous ziplock bags.

I know. I should have been on the other side. I just threw that picture in so that I can stop being persecuted by people who want me to be in pictures! :rotfl:

That's too bad that his kids don't get to go to Disney World. They would have so much fun. Have fun with your planning! It will be so fun now with Toby.

You've had more snow days than us! It has only snowed a decent amount over the weekend or over vacation.

I love the pictures of Bella and Snow White. We may need to go find your secret area when we're there. :teeth:

Not sure how I missed all your weekend updates. You were there EARLY! I'm thinking it was worth it for the low crowds.

Enjoy another snow day. I heard on the news this morning that we set another record this winter...the most consecutive days with more than 4 inches of snow on the ground...55 so far and no end it sight! I'm ready for spring!!!

Mmmm...wish I was eating those MSB treats for breakfast instead of the bowl of oatmeal I just ate.

Interesting about this secret place of yours. We might just have to scope that place out.:cool2:

We have a snow day here too. It was a workday for us so it won't need to be made up. I enjoyed doing my report cards sitting in my bed with my jammies on for sure. Will be interesting to see if we go tomorrow. Supposed to get to 40 today but refreeze overnight.

Enjoy your day!:goodvibes
