Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

Thanks for a Disney start to the day!!

Enjoy your snow day!!! It snowed here and is below zero with the wind chill but sadly we are equipped for it and off to work we go. But at least it is Friday!! :yay:

Have fun today. Eat some brownies for me!

I am enjoying the day. I went to the grocery store, washed clothes, and cooked ribs, mac & cheese, potatoes, and beans for lunch. Now, I am going to Dis for a while. I'm listening to DIS Radio, too. I haven't gotten to the brownies yet. That may come tonight. :)

I will....we are leaving in about 15mins. We usually only work until about 1p on Fridays, but our last appts today are a/b 11:30 and could still cancel. So I will be headed home early and hopefully it won't be to bad at that point.

I'll come back and check your update when I get home :goodvibes

Ladybug - I agree!! Where are you at in TN??

And WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR Bama icon???? I MUST have one of those, but in Vandy form!! :upsidedow SO CUTE!!!!

It's still not bad here, but it's coming down, so in another hour or two, it will be less than wonderful.

Six to seven inches!!! :scared1: You'll have lots of snow to put in your freezer if you want! ;)

Thanks for the Disney start to my Friday! I love it!

I looked at our weather forecast and we "might" get some ice and snow tonight. I hope not since we are down to the bare bones as far as groceries (I am planning on going tomorrow), and there is only so much stretching of leftover Chinese food that I can do.

I will take a picture when it has all come through.
I will be sure to save some snow for Brooklynn and Bella to play with next time they are here.

Chinese sounds good. I haven't had that in a while. Cashew Chicken is my favorite Chinese meal.

Yay for a snowday for MeMom! I wish we got a snow day for 1/2 inch, we got about a foot overnight yesterday...nobody even blinks when that happens in Buffalo...oh well...off to class and various other stuff....Have a terrific Friday!

I'm sure northeners get a good laugh out of us when we panic over a few inches.

Thanks for my disney picture fix.... enjoy your extra day off! Seeing those pictures reminds me that there is indeed a summer coming and school will stop... someday!

You are welcome. I enjoyed looking back over past trips.
I will be very glad for spring and summer to get here. I'd be happy to go straight from about January 2nd to March. January and February always seem very long to me.

thanks for putting up all the pictures....i too needed a dose of disney this morning!!! :goodvibes

I hope that started your day with a little happiness. Have a great weekend, and forget about all things related to work!

They are predicting 6-12 inches here. I wish nurses could get a snow day! Hopefully the worst of it will hit towards morning so I can get home tomorrow.

I hope you get home safely. I realize we are very lucky to be able to stay home at times like this. I am very glad I don't have a job I have to get out for when the weather is bad. Sadly, I bet hospitals will be very busy this weekend with wreck victims.

Oh my goodness, the beverly pictures of Brooklyn are some of my favorites!!!!!!! Bless her bones....... :goodvibes

I wanted to do that to Hollie this past trip, but it was so crazy I never got around to taking her in there!

Aren't they funny? The last one cracks me up!

I will laugh at Hollie (I mean that in the nicest way) when she tries it, too.

MeMom enjoy your Snow Day. It started out with sleet here this morning in Northeast Arkansas and now we are getting snow. Ty is very interested in that white stuff coming down.
I don't know if you saw my Facebook status but he is walking some now. He still crawls when he is in a hurry but he can walk pretty good.

Jill told me about Ty. I bet he is cute toddling a few steps.

They seem to have lowered the line a bit. This is moving a little further south than they originally had said.

Aw these pictures have me so excited for our trip!

THIS Tigger looks like so much more fun!

*Sigh* I can't wait to be walking down Main Street. You know me, I'll have to stop in the Bakery for a cinnamon roll!

Aw, Old Genie Boy. I always think of that everytime I see him now!

Haha, I love that pic of Brookie on Toy Story Mania!

OMG, we might have to have the little guy try the Beverly!

I'm excited for your trip, too! I want February to fly by so you can get down there!

You will have to take Bakery pictures for us - cinnamon roll for Brooklynn, an apple turnover and a chocolate croissant for Jill, and anything at all for me, since I switch up. Maybe a muffin.

Congrats on the snow day MeMom !

Thanks so much for the Disney pick me up this morning , it's just what I needed :)

Glad we could start your day off with some fun Disney pictures.
I need a digital photo frame that runs about 50,000 pictures so I could see all the past pictures more often. :)

Yeah for a Snow Day for Memom. Loved the Disney fix. Is that the famous cinnamon roll on the tray from Main Street Bakery? I've heard so much about but have never seen it in all its beauty.

VandyFan - drive safely out there. I hear it is already sticking in some spots in Nashville. It hasn't started yet down here.

Yes, the cinnamon rolls are huge. I have other things I like better from the Bakery, but Brooklynn is a die-hard cinnamon roll girl.

Bless her heart!

Enjoy your snow day. I got the call at 6:45 this a.m. It has since started sleeting/ and has now turned to snow! :cloud9:

They called ours last night, which helps parents make arrangements. Jill's school closed early, and they are at home now. I hope you are enjoying your day.

Who could blame you for saying it a hundred times! :cloud9:

I really love the retro Pop tree!

Kathy

Thanks for understanding.
I love Pop, and I love being in Disney World!

We had a silver tree at some point in time when I was growing up, so it's fun to see those trees at Pop.

i am logging in from work SHHHHHHHh

I am just checking on the weather!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

We are not supposed to get anything until late tonight but the weather guys keeping making it sound worse and worse.

I figured since you guys are west of me, I can check to see what is going on from the "live reports".

Of course I had to read all through everyone's replies to be thorough.

They have upped us from the 3-5 range to 7 and possibly more here.
Trent is heading south. He said the interstate is okay now, so I hope he gets far enough south that he is out of the thick of it before it freezes.

I peek in at work every chance I get. As soon as I drop my kids off at Art, Music, or P.E., if I don't have a meeting, I drop by the DIS before I do all of my copying, errands, and busy work. :)

Any day is a good day for Disney pictures!! :) Poor Brooklynn and that nasty Beverly. I tricked my kiddos too. LOL!!

I wonder if there is a thread for people to just post Beverly pictures. If so, I bet it is pretty funny.

The look on Brooklynns face...priceless.

You will be sure to share Ty's first Beverly face, won't you?

Hope you are enjoying your snow day! It snowed just a tiny bit yesterday, and now it's 19 degrees, with a "real feel" of -4, and a wind advisory. Needless to say, I loved the morning Disney pictures!

The Beverly pictures crack me up! Was Brooklynn wiping off her tongue? :rotfl:

She was sure trying to!
The last picture is my favorite. She is so put out with us! :rotfl:

Awwwww thanks! :goodvibes

I am home safe, and have been here for awhile now. I was at my neighbors house with her girls waiting for her to get home. But her parents were leaving to head to Gatlinburg and wanted to get on the road!!

Matt came and got me at work about 9:30....it wasn't a bad drive home and basically took our regular time. But Mel left about 30mins after us and it took her almost an hour longer just because more people were on the roads.

That is SO funny. I REALLY wanted to do this with Rylee when we went in December, but I just forgot and we never got around to it :headache:

I am glad you are home. I think that's where we should stay for the next two days. :thumbsup2

That, and the price of the ticket, are the two strong arguments for us going before September when he turns 3. We won't do a dining plan, so he will just eat what we buy, but a couple buffets are planned for...and while it currently was our best bargain for food for him, it will become our worst!! All well....I'll pack along some plastic baggies for his food!

I have to say, I think Cindy did a mighty fine job in decorating her home for Christmas. She has that real creative quality, doesn't she? ;) Seeing that lit up Castle just never gets old. It's so beautiful. I should attempt to count how many pictures I took of it this trip. But, I'm not sure I know how to count that high. My in-laws were teasing me because of the sheer number, I do know that!

That was my report with the vase! I think they are really adorable!

And that Main Street set....just love it. No where to put it, and not enough money to buy it though!

I don't recall ever looking around in the top level of the Train Station. I really like this vintage pic of Walt!

I really enjoyed your pics from past trips too. I remember the Tigger! So cute, such great interaction. And Brooklynn trying Beverly...adorable! :goodvibes I think this year will be Henry's year to try it.

Happy snow day! 5 to 7 inches is a lot of snow to get at once! I hope the temps rise for you...it's been chilly again here this past week. 7 degrees currently. Sigh. Makes me long for palm trees!

That's right, have those baggies handy. You'll pay fifteen bucks for him to eat a handful of grapes somewhere, so a muffin for later will help you endure that pain a little easier.

We will look forward to laughing along with you at Henry when his Beverly time comes. It's such a rite of passage, isn't it? You can't be a real Diser unless you have tried a swig!

I want to sit in on that class! That sounds right up my alley :)

That just made me giggle and wince at the same time! Poor little soul! She is too cute and looks like she takes it all in stride!

She was fine a few seconds later. Jill is going to show her the pictures later to see if she remembers that event. We'll see what she has to say.

It normally takes me 10 min's to get home. Today it took an hour. I slipped a few times and one car almost slid into me but missed. I saw so many cars wrecked and stuck, I was getting nervous since I spent my last 7 years in Florida I wasn't used to it, but I made it home. We have about 4 inches now and it isn't supposed to stop until tomorrow AM. Here are some pictures in front of our house after only snowing for 2 hours.

I hope everyone is home safe and sound and that Trent got far enough south. Is he going over the mountain into Chattanooga? I heard they were closing it.

It's snowing :yay::yay::yay:

Hopefully our facility will be closed tomorrow

Thank you for that quick trip around the world. Made me feel all warm inside despite the bitter cold weather.

We are going to get socked tonight with snow, so the weather man says. I am really hoping we don't loose power. You got any snow pictures to share with us?

Glad to hear you got home safely. That is a scary feeling. Hope you can have fun in it now!

Holy cow! The snow is really coming down there! Congrats on the snow day MeMom. I know the wonderful mental health they provide all too well! I think it's something like looking through those old Disney photos do for me. ;)

Hope all of you affected by this storm are staying safe and warm!

I hate to hear that about Monteagle. Trent may have already gotten past that. I hope so. He's called me once, but he didn't answer when I called him a few minutes ago. I'll be glad when I hear from him.

Just heard from him. He is on the other side of the mountain, so it's mostly just rain now. He said it was pretty treacherous going over the mountain and that they really should go on and close it

Keep us posted on what is going on your way.

It is nice to look at pictures of warmth right now! :thumbsup2

I will take some tomorrow morning. We don't have a lot here yet.

We have a new picture of our little Mops! Love it! :dance3:

I'm in for the duration. As long as I have electricity and food, I'm good.

We're snowed in, too!! Got the call at 5:30 am that school was cancelled! I posted pics on FB of the girls!!! :goodvibes

The pictures of Brooklynn wiping off her tongue are hilarious! Love it! I plan to do that to Hannah on our next trip! Heehee!

Congrats on your snow day!!! nothing here but arctic blast cold....I have other names for the cold which I cannot post live...ack
anyways, the soda pic was just priceless!!! love all the other pics too around Disney too!:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the Disney pictures it is just what I need on a day like this. So far all we are getting is rain, we are on the maybe line in Ga, but I do not think our weather is going to get below freezing. We will just get cold and rainy, but your pictures are a nice reminder of warm and sunny.

Right Now it is snowing on and off here. Not really sticking to roads but on the way home it was on the grass.

Our park and rec dept ( where I work ) does not have a plan for the weekends. If it snows during the week we rely on the county government offices to make the decision to close. On the weekends we are on our own. Poor planning in my opinion. I think that will change real soon.

As I left staff was trying to put down ice melt and salt before anything major comes down. Not quite sure if they understand it will not work with the amount of snow and mix they are predicting.
Oh well, I don't have to work this weekend but I have to make sure I am in contact with my staff that is scheduled this weekend.

So I sit :surfweb:, watch the weather from home and Dis:banana::banana:

I hope everyone has their bread and milk:laughing: and keeps their power on and has a quiet, safe, weekend at home.

I went to Food Lion this afternoon and got stocked up on everything! It's coming down pretty good now. Hannah has been beside herself since it first started. She's already gone out a couple of times just to play around in it. I got some cute pictures of her earlier today when it first started snowing. I'm just glad that school was out by the time it started snowing!

My neighborhood really hasn't gotten a bunch of snow. I'd say we got as little as anyone around here. The other side of town already had two inches before we had a dusting.

Can't wait to see that sweet little red-head making an 'icky' face!

I think we lucked out on the blizzard this time. We have a couple of inches, and we'll have a couple of nights of single digits, but then we should be back to pretty much normal. I'll be ready for spring, even with that.

Trent drove out of this stuff and through Georgia last night. I was glad when he reached his destination about 2:30 a.m.

Bread, milk, and power.
Check. Check. Check.
So far, so good.

I know she had a great time! Our kids around here are squealing with joy up and down the street.

Did Huntsville get any snow or ice? I was watching the weather change to rain as it headed towards our little corner of Georgia yesterday.

Jill said they got slush and icy roads. They were able to go home early yesterday, for which I am grateful.

Brooklynn, here are some pictures for you of what MeMom's house looks like right now.

Front yard and street.

The back of my car.

I think a spring break project will be scraping and painting the awning. It's horrid, as you can see!

snow2010005.jpg

I wish you and Bella were here and we could go out and make snow angels.

As you guys can see, we got a far cry from the predicted seven inches here in my neighborhood. It seems like we really got the least of anyone around this area, from what I have seen of friends' pictures. I'm pretty happy about that. We have enough to say we have had a snow, but not enough that we can't move around in it if we really have to.

I have to tell you what a nice guy Jarvis is. Drew is at a friend's house and Trent is in Florida, so I got a text from Jarvis a few minutes ago. He wanted to know if I needed anything or needed to go anywhere before he went to work at 11:30. Wasn't that just so thoughtful of him? I totally did not expect that, but it made me very happy that Trent has such a nice guy as a good friend.
