Ring, darn it, ring!

I am so tired of waiting for my DH to call every few days. So wish I could pick up the phone & call him. Pathetically waiting for the phone to ring is so not who I am. However I am finding myself doing it more and more.

So ready for this year to be over. Not even half way there yet.

Years ago, I was engaged to a guy that went into the Navy a couple years after we started dating, it was actually a wonderful thing for him and he retired last year.

The first deployment came:
I would sit around waiting for the phone to ring,more times it wouldn't then would. And I decided I wasn't going to drive myself crazy because like you it was very unlike me to wait by a phone. Even though he was "gone" I had to keep on going.

Is this the first deployment for you both?

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Mine is gone right now too.

Like the PP said, you have GOT to keep busy. I know it sounds mean, but you can't live your life according to his schedule.

It sucks...but we'll get through it! And we'll be stronger for it!

Why don't you just have him call your cell phone? That way you can go out, and still never miss a call!

Been there and I also hated that when something happen I could not call him. I use to get so upset when I missed his calls I was attached to my cell phone. Once my cell phone broke I rush to the store I think the store clerk thought I was crazy but I needed a phone NOW! Keep busy the best advice.

I have been keeping busy & he does call my cell phone. But that doesn't erase the fact that sometimes its been longer than usual that I haven't heard from him and I really would just like to hear his voice.

It was just one of those days.
I'm not sitting around waiting for calls, but I really just wanted him to call at that time.

He finally did call yesterday. We had a couple of minutes before we were disconnected. Then I waited another hour before he was able to get through again. So I didn't know if it was a dreaded communication blackout or what. No email during that time either so I didn't know if it was just phones.

Deployments suck. Period.
