We are taking our kids and grandkids this year. How does it work if you have 2-3 kids that can not ride a particular ride? Do all members in the party go through the lie together and then some wait and hand the kids off when the ride is done? Are different rides rules different? Is there someplace I can get information on how to do this?

Disney has something called a 'switch rider' pass that allows you to switch adults riding using the fastpass lane, while the other waits with the child that is too small to ride. We use it all the time, and it's great. Try googling 'Disney switch rider' for a better description of the process.

You do a rider switch. If you have a fastpass, go to the FP lane (or regular lane) and show them the child who is too small and they'll give you a rider switch ticket. This one ticket is good for several people. After the ride, you give the rider switch ticket to the other adult and that adult can ride the ride with the older kids (again) and the other stays with the smallest child.

There are ways to work the switch rider system.
