Riding train to Adventure Land

I read a timesaving tip somewhere (I think on mousesavers) that said, at the time MK opens, take the railroad to adventure land and ride Splash Mountain and BTMRR. It said that by taking the railroad, you'd beat everyone else (who was walking) to adventure land. Has anyone tried this? Does the railroad get you to adventure land faster than you could get there by foot? Thanks!

I haven't tried, but I've read of people who tried it, and apparently the only thing it does is save you some walking.

The first train apparently takes a little longer to load and get going.

You won't fall behind, but you won't be ahead of the crowds either.

But again, I've only read about people who have done it. I have not personally done it.

We've done this and as long as the train is at the main station or in sight, it is faster. At opening one morning I rode the train with my ds4 and my teen boys hoofed it to Splash Mountain. They did not encounter any crowds yet we were there before they were. This was at slow season, but I think the crowds that would slow down the train (loading) would also slow down the walkers. I find it a most relaxing start to a long day.

The train station is in Frontierland (between Splash and BTMRR) - Adventurland is a short walk from Frontierland.

From Main Street Station, Frontierland is the first stop; then on to Toontown Station and back to Main Street.

I think you'd do just as well to walk from Main Street and cross through Adventureland over to Frontierland. You could lose some time waiting at the train station and the train doesn't travel very fast (although it is a nice ride).

My DS and I tried this because of a tip I read on these boards. It worked great for us. We were at Splash and BTMRR long before any lines formed. I agree with another poster that if you have to wait for a train you would likely lose any advantage over walking.
