When we took our children to Disneyworld many, many years ago, we could wait until a monorail came around with only the driver in the front, and we rode with him. My kids loved it. Now I am going with my granddaughters and wondered if you can still do that.

No, that is no longer allowed. A monorail pilot was killed a few years ago in a tragic accident. If there had been guests up front with him, they would have died as well!!! So...no more rides in the front, for anyone other than CMs. Sorry.

No. Since a wreck several years ago, (where the monorail driver was killed), Disney no longer allows guests to ride in the front of the monorails.

oops, Goofy and I were posting at the same time. lol

I apologize for the deletion of two posts. There was nothing offensive or such. BUT...since this board really doesn't deal with transportation at DL, it can be very misleading to discuss anything that pertains to DL. Sorry guys. Just wanted to give an explanation.
