Hmm not sure crowds at Disney are all that controversial...
As far as people saying to just go a different time...not everyone has that luxury. They may have kids in school and just can't take a week during non peak times and they may only be so many available weeks that someone (or both people in a family) can take a vacation.
...

/əˈpäləjist/
Noun
A person who offers an argument in defense of something controversial.
Synonyms
defender
It's etymology lies in early defenders of Christianity, but it's use is more widespread these days
/YÈpälYjist/
I know what it means, seriously don't come here for an education by other Dissers I was not the first to say its used on the Dis and I am not the first to say its uncalled for, someone else on this thread said the name calling now begins and I agree
It's funny -- I didn't read the OP as particularly negative or complaining. More of an OMG / "there are so many PEOPLE!" incredulous thing. I mean ... has it escaped people that he ended his post by giving a little verbal fistbump to the CMs?

Impressive command of diacritical marks!
Well, if you find the term unsettling, I'd be happy to call the apologists defenders.

I don't like the term drinking the kool-aid either
You appear to find the term derogatory and/or offensive and I am having difficulty understanding why. And of course your opinion is YOUR opinion. However much you don't like it, the term is frequently correctly ascribed. I have no problem whatsoever if someone calls me an apologist if I am defending a certain side in a discussion. It is not the same thing as blind, deaf or unreasoning adherence to a belief. Now, THAT I would find derogatory.
4 other people on this thread PRIOR to me mentioned the use of the term, and how they felt about it, quote them please as I am done here
Apologist! Er, I mean, defender! My sincerest apologies.
I'm probably done too- time for a nice glass of kool-aid.
Uh. If no one ever complained about July 4th crowds on the Disney boards like the OP did how would you be able to research it?

I shall henceforth refer to those who accept without question the official position as "drinking the orange juice"...
unless, of course, you have some issue with that as well.
In that case, we can just say "drinking the free ice water."
