Which rides at US and IOA have photos of the ride for purchase? Does the US " photo pass" equivalent include the ride photos? And finally, ifi buy the pass online is it just a voucher, if so where an you redeem it?
TIA!

Ballarinamom, I haven't done this yet, but just found out about it. Apparently the online purchase is a voucher that needs to be exchanged, yes, but it's $10 cheaper than buying it in the park, so worth the trouble. I believe for AP holders you can get it activated for the whole year, not just 5 days. (We are getting one AP in our party for the discounts, so we plan to do this.) I don't know exhaustively which rides have it, but FJ does, and Spiderman has a "Daily Bugle" cover kind of photo op, which looks like fun. Plus the photo connect would work at any "photog hanging out to take your picture" spot.

HTH.

We did this 2 months ago, and thought it was a great deal. You have to go to one of the photo centers to get your star card - there's one at the front of each park. You just need the confirmation email that they send you when you preorder the package - no physical voucher like Disney. So it's no more trouble, and a $10 savings, than if you bought the package in the park.

It includes all ride photos, all character photos, and all roving photographer photos. Rides I remember are

Hulk
Forbidden Journey
Jurassic Park
Ripsaw Falls
SpiderMan (the one that they take while you're in line)

Revenge of the Mummy
Men In Black
Rip Ride Rockit (not integrated with the system, but the TM will give you a receipt you use online to get your pictures)

Characters:
ET
SpongeBob
SpiderMan
Shrek
Transformers
Superhero parade characters

Rovers we found:
Entrance to each park
Bridge by Hogwarts - nice picture of your group with Hogwarts in the background
Jurassic Park cars & dinosaurs

We also got the $25 upgrade (in park) to get a free print of every picture. We got the ride prints immediately after each ride, and the rest of the prints at photo centers during the day.

There's also a smartphone app that lets you look at the pictures while you're still in the park. That was a lot of fun, and made it easier to show the agents what pictures we wanted printed.

Even if you do the $25 upgrade, do you get a cd with all the pictures as well? Is there even a CD included like the disney photopass+? There isn't much info on the universal one anywhere and diden't even know about it until I saw this thread. Going to universal next year, so want to get as much info as I can before hand. thanks

Yes, you get a CD included - that's part of the photoconnect package, and doesn't matter if you get the $25 print package or not. You order the CD from the website when you're done with the pictures. You still have to pay shipping (6 or 7 bucks?), and you can't do any borders or editing on the pictures like you can with Disney.

Here's the website:

Has it been confirmed that AP holders get it activated for entire year instead of only 5 days. If so, yet another reason to get an AP.

Yes, I read posts on Orlando Informer from a couple of families who had done it with APs. Apparently you have to have them "convert" the 5-day duration to the full year in park, by showing the AP.

Do you have to wait in each ride photo line after the ride to have the ride photos added (or printed) like with photopass+?
With the 25$ upgrade what size are the pics you get printed?
Do you have to get the pictures printed on the day they were taken before you leave the park? each park separately? It would be great if I could run back over on my last day and get them done for the whole 4 days. We've had some long waits in that line.

From my experience 2 months ago:

1. Yes, you've got to get in the photo line after each ride - presumably they don't keep the photos around in the system forever if no one claims them. In our experience though, the Universal photo lines were much quicker than the Disney photo lines.

2. I think they were all 5x7.

3. We did the prints as we went for ride pictures, since we had to stand in line anyway to give them our card, but did the character & other pictures at the end of each day. On the last day, we went through all the pictures and found any we had missed and had them printed, and this wasn't a problem, so I'm sure you can do all of them on the final day. Forbidden Journey is the exception - they told us you had to go to FJ to get FJ prints - couldn't get them anywhere else. Even then, we were able to get FJ prints from previous days, since we didn't buy the print package until day 2.

So you have to add the ride photos to your card after each ride, but prints are at your convenience.

Thank you!! I think I may try this in august. It would be fun to have all our ride photos.

I got mine back in December and love it. I have just the basic photo connect with digital downloads. It came with one free print plus a picture photo connect card with lanyard. The picture photo connect card is you favorite picture ( choose one photo ) on the card with your barcode.

I have an AP and its good for one year. We have used it now on 5 trips since December. I either use the app to save to photo album and text or email them to people. Or go on the website and save them to computer or print. Early on I was able to edit boarders and stuff but last time I checked they removed that feature. I might add the $25 in a few weeks and have them print all of ours. Over 100 photos so far. It's nice to have family photos without having to bring your own camera.

I just checked, and most of the prints we got are 5x7, but all the Forbidden Journey prints were 8x10. Which is nice.
