New to Universal ..... And I get motion sick easily :(. I heard there are stationary seats in some of the rides? Is that true? And if so, can I ride it with my son doing the full motion at the same time.

Is it the motion of the rides that makes you sick or is it also the screens? For me it's also the screens so sitting in the no motion seats doesn't really prevent anything. I take Dramamine and go on everything. It really does work.

ETA - avoid the Simpsons if you are feeling even the least little bit funky

Yes, Simpson's is particularly bad for me. I think I felt a little hinky after riding Forbidden Journey but it was still worth it!

That's really too bad about the Simpsons. I love the Simpsons, but not enough to let them make me sick :P

Stationary seats are not really right next to motion seats from what I can remember. There's the possibility you could be close to each other though. I did Despicable Me and Shrek, and still had to close my eyes to avoid motion sickness, but that was fine with me- the AC was glorious!

All rides empty into a gift shop, so just insist that your son wait for you.

Yea, the non motion seats aren't next to the regular motion seats, at least on the rides I went on. I agree with the person above about Dramamine. I can get car sick in a 5 minute car ride but if I take Dramamine in the morning, I can ride most things. Despicable Me did make me sick, though!

Okay, I get sick even with dramamine. I got a prescription this time for a patch to wear behind my ear and it worked SO WELL. Simpsons didn't affect me ONE BIT. Seriously -- it was a miracle! Might call your doctor and ask!

Not only does Minions have stationary seats, but I didnt realize it even has a seperate line if those are the only seats you and your party want (the regular line was 90 minutes when I entered, the express pass got me in in 15 minutes, and there was as sign that said stationary seating was only 10 minutes).

As someone else said, Shrek might be the only other attraction that does this (though, Shrek isn't a ride. The seats just bounce a bit to the action on screen. I think a person with motion sickness would be perfectly fine with that).
