My youngest DD just broke her arm and will still be in a cast (on her forearm) when we're in WDW! Are there any rides that you all know of that she would not be able to go on because of the cast? She is 6 so there are a number of rides she will still not do like the roller coasters (except Goofy's Barnstormer) and TOT.

My son broke his arm bad (2 1/2 hours of surgury to fix it) right before our first trip to WDW. Once we got there, I didn't find that he couldn't go on any rides. I bought a cover for the cast so we even got to go on the water rides. During the AK parade, Chip and Dale got out of the parade route and kissed my son's arm. It was sooo cute!!! :goodvibes I don't think you should have any problems. You may even get a character to sign the cast.

really i was gonna say space mountain, BTMRR and primeval whirl seeing how jearky they are but then i read she won't ride roller coasters except goffy's barn stormer
can't really think of anything else though

Thanks! That's great to know that she'll be able to do all of the rides she wants to do. She'll be getting a new cast on the week before we go, so we're going to get a waterproofed one put on. We're hoping she'll be able to get in the pool. The doc will take the pins out of her arm the same time he changes the cast and puts the shorter one on. We don't yet know if she'll have to stay out of pools until the pin areas heal. She's planning on keeping the new cast unsigned until we go so that she can get character signatures on it!

ds went two years ago to disney and universal with an arm cast. when he broke his arm he was devastated thinking he would not be able to go on any rides. I called the parks and they basically said he could go on any of the rides, even the roller coasters. He did go on every ride, including the roller coasters. On the water rides we put the poncho around it. The only trouble we had was at IOA, we were sitting on the dueling dragons ready to take off and they stopped the ride. They said his broken arm had to be on the outside so that he would not hit anyone with the cast. We also tried the water cover thing for the pool but it did leak. The only thing we did not do that we wanted to do was the water parks. he loves the tidal wave pool and I thought it was too dangerous for him with the cast so we avoided the water parks. to answer you question, disney and universal will let you ride any ride with an arm cast.

My DD(7) broke her arm last year 10 days before our trip. Her first cast was above the elbow and she had to wear a sling. But two days before our trip our Ortho. surgeon put a short waterproof cast on and cleared her to use her thumb. Just make sure they can still use thier thumb for holding on. She(Dr.) said if the break was closer to her wrist, then any rollercoaster rides would have been out. We had a great time with no problems. She loves her cast with all the signatures on it.

GOod Luck!!!
