Rides with a 7mo old?

We are going in May to WDW. We will have our 3 year old and 7mo old sons. I am fine with the things that DS1 can't go on. However, wondering what we can/can not go on with DS2? Will one of us have to sit out the whole day...or can he go on in our lap?

examples:
Pirates of the Carribean? Dumbo? Haunted Mansion? It's a Small World?

hi how tall is your 3 year old ? if he is under 40 inches they your baby can do all the rides he can. babies can go on everything in fantasyland, and most everything else too. we took dd when she was 9 months. the only things she didnt ride were the roller coasters, splash mtn, test track, tower of terror. any ride that does not have a height restriction is fine for a baby. have a great time

We took DD was she was 3 months and we went on everything except the obvious thrill attractions (and barnstormers). We did do Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Dumbo, Small World. One of you should not really have to sit out at all! Have a great time!

THANK YOU Kimmy and Jam. DS1 will almost be 3 when we visit and right now is 36 inches (looks like a 4 year old). I don't expect him to be 40 by May.
Great to hear that DS2 can join us on everything...

Now...another question...if anyone is still reading this...
DS2 is 3 mo and 19lbs!! (I breed big boys!) I expect him to be 25lbs in May. SO, when we are walking around, he's asleep in the stroller (that we are bringing) and we go to get in line for a ride. I am going to need to take him out of the stroller to park it. then CARRY him through the line for the next 30+ min? Any other suggestions. We have a backpack carrier that we got but never used with DS. (that would still be disturbing him to put him in the darn thing)...
Looking for anything..
I know I might get...deal with it...or let him sleep...

i dont know what month you are going in but i have used a baby bjorn the grey breathable one, and also the side carrier,but she couldnt be sleeping i prefer the bjorn if you are in the weight limit, cause you can keep them in it and still ride a lot of the rides

Maybe I will have to look into the wt limit. We have a less expensive one. We are going to a museum tomorrow without the stroller, so maybe I will use it then and see how comfy he/I am. I remember my girlfriend's BB was bigger than this one...
We are going in MAY...it will be nice and warm, but not 90 all day.

I think the Bjorn limit is 22lbs. I used this a lot when my son was younger (now 2 years old). I would strongly reccomend a carrier called the Ergo. If you google Ergo, the main site for the company will come up. It goes up to like 40 lbs. Not that you would want to carry a 40lb person in it. However, it is an awesome carrier that you can use for front, side and back carry. When we took my son to the beach often this past summer it was a godsend for the end of the night when he was exhausted. He is 27 lbs now and I can comfortably carry him on my back. My sister in law even used it one night when her 3 year old was exhausted and too tired to walk back to the hotel one night.

Melissabo...thanks for the Ergo idea. I saw one before DS2 was born...but necer really looked into it. I just hate to spend that much when I think he will be WAY too big to use it soon!
Maybe I can find a used one? Any chance you want to part with yours?

We took my DS#3 on his first trip when he was 7 months old. He rode everything that did not have a height limit. He rode on our laps and really enjoyed everything.
He also really loved the characters. (Of course the next trip he was 13 months old and scared to death of them.)

I second the Ergo. I used it for DD when she was a year and half with no problems at all. I purchased it to use on the side but didn't like the feel of it. I was comfortable with her on my back (just personal choice, many love this) but loved the front. I could have carried her for hours in this! I used a Baby Bjorn Active when she was smaller but she was too big for it at a year and a half. After using the Ergo I wished I had used that the entire time instead of the Bjorn. There was just no comparison. I LOVED the Ergo. I purchased it from a place that you could return it if you didn't like it for something like 60 days. I don't remember the name but I could look it up if you want. I think someone on here actually recommended the site.

Just to clarify...When you guys say everything without a height restriction does that include the tea cups? We're thinking of going in October and will have a 6 or 7 month old. Thats the one that I'm just not too sure of. I can see bringing a baby on the others but something about that one worries me.

There are several rides that your 7-mo old can go on -- the more sedate ones -- carousel, small world, tta and probably even the pooh ride, without much question. We went when ds was 13 months old and he was fine on most rides in fantasyland as well as several others. He also LOVED all the shows (especially the Tiki birds).

The 3 year old should be able to do many of the rides, depending on his height and temperment. The same ds will be 4 about 3 weeks after we get back and he's so excited about the roller coasters and can't stop talking about going on them. There are only a handful of rides that I'm not letting him go on and only 1 or 2 that he has to miss out on due to the height restrictions.

I would not recommend taking the baby on the tea cups...I don't know how you would even hold a baby on the tea cups.!

Thats what I thought. Even when I brought my, at the time, 2 year old I was worried about spinning her little brain around but sometimes I don't know if its just me.

She was 4(they are almost exactly 4 years apart). Epcot was fun. WE liked the food options there. Gracie loved hte kidcot stops, Turtle talk, Club Cool, the bakeries in Norway and France. There is a lot for kids there. On our 9 day trip we spent 2 days there. We did not have a very good plan though so it was very erratic. If you going there, have a plan of attack. Like do the front one day and the back another day.

My youngest really just was happy to do whatever. He is a very mellow child and was totally agreeable the whole time. I think 7mo is the perfect time to take a baby, :lol:
