Rides w/ family of 5

We went on the Barnstormer last Spring Break for the first time and it was a day when only myself and at the time 6 year old and 3 year old were at the park (husband and youngest stayed at the hotel for a nap). For Barnstormer each of them had to ride with an adult with them and it wasn't mentioned to me until we were about to get on the ride, just a heads up. Not sure if your 9 year old would be considered old enough to ride alone or would want to. We've been many many times and that is the only ride I remember having an issue with but we don't really do thrill rides.

The general rule is a child has to be 7 to ride alone. Depending on the CM and the ride, they *sometimes* will allow 2 kids under 7 to ride together with a parent directly behind them, but oftentimes they won't. Likewise, if there's one adult with 2 kids under 7, they *might* allow a swap at boarding so a parent could ride once with each kid since neither can ride alone, but they may not since kids under 7 aren't supposed to be left unsupervised (and a CM at boarding isn't supposed to be supervising a waiting child). Same with the scenario of 1 adult, 1 kid under 7, and 1 kid over 7 all wanting to ride, but neither kid wanting to ride alone. They *might* allow the adult to ride once with each kid, while performing the swap at boarding, but they may say the 7+ yo old can ride alone and deny it.

Family of 5 here with a 9,6, and 4. Just back from MK and HS. 9 year old and 6 year old can ride together on SDMT and SDD together because of the locking system. That could mean Parent could ride alone. Barnstormer we had to rider swap. Everything else you can generally squeeze three (1 parent 2 kids) into a ride vehicle. We didn't do Space or Rockin' as all 5 because the rest of the party wasn't up for it. So we booked separate FP+.
Oh this is good to hear! But do you think they thought your 6yo was 7 and just didn’t ask? We’ll have a 6yo and 4yo twins and these 2 coasters are our main concerns.

There were times it was tricky, we were all going on a ride, I had to talk the kids into going together so I was the one riding with the random adult there by themselves. I didnt mind when it was another kid
