Rides vs. age...who wins?

Since we are empty nesters, staying away from the parks is a bit easier. On our last 7 day stay we went into the parks on tickets 2 days. I have to say "on tickets" because we did the Backstage Magic tour of MK, EPCOT, and MGM. That was an awesome day. I highly recommend that tour for adults. The behind the scenes areas of the parks were great. But I think going to Disney's florist, the Christmas workshop, and the imagineers workshop was just too cool. And the all you can eat family style unch at Mama Melrose was wonderful. Although I do still enjoy the rides and we usually take a couple days to ride our favorites, there are just so many other things to do.

We love:
* Water Activities (You can even parasail over Bay Lake and get a great arial view of the Magic Kingdom.)
* Water Parks (Love that wave pool at TL.)
* Disney Quest is one of DH's favorites at WDW.
* Miniature Golf
* Resort Hopping
* Stroll around the BW in the evening. (We did this our last trip and met the nicest couple celebrating their anniversary too. We ended up having a drink with them at Big River Grille.)
* Just hanging out around the pool with a drink and a good book. (I must be getting old too. We did only this for two entire days on our last trip.)
* Visit with the bartender at the Gurgling Suitcase. (For the life of me I can't remember her name. But she just cracks us up!)
* Like everyone else, we love just strolling around WS and catching all the performers.

I'm an amusement park fanatic. I go to as many as I can. And I have seen some wonderful things like an 89 year old man in a wheel chair being helped onto a 200 foot coaster. After the ride, they helped him off and put him back into the chair and pushed him to the next rollercoaster. He was having a great time. I centainly hope I can do the same at his age.

However, even at 42 years of age I have discovered the "park" in the amusement park. I enjoy sitting with a drink, talking to people I am with or just watching people pass by. I enjoy listening to the music or watching the shows. I even enjoy feeding the birds or looking at the flowers. Heck! In Florida I enjoy having the warm sun hit me when I know at home it would be snow flakes hitting me. I don't think I will ever "grow out of" my enjoyment of amusement parks, especially Disney.

It has been fun reading this thread! There certainly are many different opportunities at WDW. A lot of these activities sound very intriguing. ScubaD is my DH and your answers have my head spinning with ideas for upcoming trips! ;)
