Rides that should be retired....

MK: Indy Speedway. Sorry to those that love this one, but this attraction is loud, smelly, a slow loader and doesn't fit the Tomorrowland theme. It also takes up a lot of prime real estate that could be used to build two attractions - one facing Tomorrland and one facing Toontown Fair.

Epcot: I hate to say it, but if you are never going to open Body Wars, then scrap it and put in something new.

AK: Nuke the whole Chester and Hester's area. It never felt like Disney to me.

MGM: Sounds Dangerous. It kind of feels old now and the building is in a prime location to house a new attraction.

Say it isn't so!

:teacher: And also, I know that the Hall of Presidents is lengthy and somber, but I love it. I always feel immensely patriotic and full of pride after it. JMO.

I do agree that some of the rides do need to be updated, but some are so funny because the are outdated like Rio De El Tiempo.

There are also the rides they should has never been changed....Tiki Room and Journey Into Imagination.

There are also the rides that should have stayed......Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

The ones I would replace would be:
MK-Timekeeper and TomorrowLand Speedway
Epcot: Innovations, Universe Of Engery, Honey, I Shrunk The Audience, and Body Wars.
AK-Hester and Chester
MGM-Sounds Dangerous, Star Tours, Indiana Jones, and the Back Lot Tour (I can't remember the real name)

I heard a rumor - a rumor mind you , that Body Wars is indeed being scrapped.

:listen: I heard that same rumor :chat:

here is my list

The circle of life at the land

Indy speedway or at least update it wth more futuristic cars and make them electric instead of diesel

as much as I loved the people mover as a child, TTA is a far cry from it's people mover days. the whole future gimic doesn'w work anymore, i miss the information it use to give.

Swiss family tree houses is wasted space.

Jungle cruise is a total waste of time. it's just crap compared to the rest of the park.

they need a new film at imagination pavilion.

eliminate all circle vision 360 attractions, they give me headaches.

as cool as pocahantas show is.. ( mostly the puppets which are the most advanced in all four parks.) something else needs to be put there.

the backstage tour is a shadow of it's former self. It was a waste of time.. get rid of the preshow.

I love tom sawyer .. but i think tarzans treehouse should go in that spot.

the rio de tempo
(actualy in my oppinion of the world showcase is that if you don't want to shop it's really lackluster in the fun element) world showcase needs some more action.)

Star tours needs to go

Honey I shrunk the kids play area needs to go as well.

phew i think that will do it for now.

For the record, I like Malestrom, the Indiana Jones show, the Tiki Birds, Hester and Chester, and the Muppets. I really like the Timekeeper too, but it is usually CLOSED.

Two rides that I think should be redone because they burn fossil fuel and create stinky unhealthy fumes are the race cars and the ferry to Tom Sawyer Island.

Drew Carry's Sounds Dangerous is something I have done only once on numerous trips, but it does seem like a good place to take a nap or nurse a baby.

Ride the Movies needs work. Even the CMs there seem bored with it. Perhaps they could put in some scenes from some more recent movies. The gangster/cowboy scene would be ok if the CMs could act like they were at least having fun. Picture a scene from Narnia or Pirates! Vast improvement!

The same thing goes for the backlot tour. The CMs project a total lack of enthusiam. I would like them to replace the segments that deal with the movie Pearl Harbor with, perhaps, some from Pirates of the Caribbean. They could convert the PT boat in the tank to a pirate ship and do about the same kind of show.

Pirates was a big hit, Pearl Harbor was not. Although it is interesting to see a whole presentation on Pearl Harbor that never uses the name of Japan. However, it's not that interesting.

I think a previous poster was right about changing the Safari ride a bit. Almost anything would be better than the fake Little Red. It would be nice if there were several different presentations. And bring back those South African drivers too, they were cool.

There are several attractions that are fun once...and only once. Alien Encounter was like that; Stitch is awful. A really expensive one time only attraction is M:S. What a disappointment that was!

I would like to see more of the "hey that was fun; I want to do that again" sort of rides. You know Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Splash, Rockin Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror kind of fun attractions.

Yes, very good point! I totally agree! MS and Stitch were definitely disappointments. And they definitely need more "let's do that again" rides.

Haha, so true! I love Rio just because of its 'authentic' look.

I agree with Tomorrowland Speedway being updated to electric cars and new model. They could probably auction off the old one to help repay for the new one.

I hope, now with Pixar, they will do something really cool with the Wonders of Life pavilion...we'll see.

Astro Orbitors!!

This is the most boring thing I've ever been on and I couldn't wait to get off! Do little kids like this? It looks like a large silo with a little ride at the top.

Also, I'm not crazy about Misson Space, once was enough. Although my husband, who dislikes most Disney things, loved this ride - go figure. One of our family favorties for non-thrill rides is the Muppets, an update on this would be great.

The last time I was on Astro Orbitors, I was probably 10. I don't know what the big draw here is, maybe a nice view from being so hight up? But, at any rate, without fail every time I've been to Disney and am makinf my way to Space Mt, the line for that ride is HUGE!

#1 Stitch (God help us all.)
#2 Sounds Dangerous (love Drew, but still boring)
#3 Peter Pan (I know, I know. It's the best ride ever, blah, blah...just my opinion)
#4 Canada movie
#5 Indiana Jones

I would have put in the stunt show, but I didn't even bother to go see that, it sounds so dumb.

Wow! A lot of different opinions, but this is what makes Disney great. Some things you like some things you don’t. But there is something at each park to interest everyone.

I have to agree that several rides/attractions need to be improved/updated. Some of those that I found to be very boring after going on them once were

1. Tike Room
2. Honey I shrunk the kids
3. Ride at Mexico
4. Carrousel of progress
5. Movie at Canada
6. Drew Carry's Sounds Dangerous

And basically the only reason they are boring or unattractive is because they are outdated. A little renovation and they would have my full attention again.

Oh, no, not Timekeeper! I like that show. There are just some rides/shows at WDW that while not exciting (being a Cedar Point fan, I can't say any WDW rides are that exciting) they just appeal to me; probably more of a relaxation than excitement. For example, I always take that ride (forget the name) that goes thru the Epcot globe. that's the first ride we head to when Epcot opens.

If the thread allows just changing a ride, I'd say change the Test track ride. Specifically, quit the propoganda with the ABS braking system. I hate ABS.

no way i would take down muppets or great movie ride those are like the original attractions of MGM anyway for all yall sounds dangerous ppl your wishes will be true about sounds dangerous those building will be torn down no plan for the future yet :thumbsup2

I was totally excited to go to Stitch the first time when it first opened. I was pretty disappointed. They could have done SO much more with that story. We went on it again our last trip, it was just as disappointing.

The ride in Mexico is a good laugh! Very cheesy!

I really think they could have done better with the Figment ride as well. Man, did that suck. The idea of it is okay.

I really didn't like the Drew Carey attraction. I would like to see them replace that one. Aren't they checking the number of guests entering these things? Half the time they aren't near full.

I was on the Great Movie ride in December '05. They had updated the movies at the end from the last time I was there, Pirates of the Caribbean and such. I like this ride when we have a good driver. That makes all the difference.

I thought Honey, I Shrunk the Audience sucked. It should go. I do love the Muppets! It would be good to see that one stay but get some updates.

I'd really like to see a good Little Mermaid ride, a Toy Story ride, or maybe even Finding Nemo.
