Rides/motion sickness

I don't often admit to this but we go Disney so often but I dont go on the rides due to motion sickness, I sit and watch and soak up the atmosphere but no rides for me.
We go again in April and I really would like to try something less likely to cause motion sickness.
I have been on the safari thing at Animal Kingdom and that caused me to feel nauseaous.
Please tell me I am not the only one with this problem!!! Which rides are unlikely to cause sickness????

Just replying to bump this up a bit.

Wow, you do seem to have it bad with motion sickness - I wouldn't consider the Safari at Animal Kingdom bad - the tea cups at MK - that's another thing entirely!!

Does it help if you take any medication. It may be worth doing so if you want to sample some of the more 'smoother' rides.

Other than the shows (obvious really) a few 'rides' come to mind as being quite gentle.

MGM - The Great Movie Ride, Possibly Catastrophe Canyon.
Epcot - Spaceship Earth, River del Tempo (sp) in Mexico, Ellens Universe of Energy, Boat ride in 'The Land' (can't remember what it's called)
AK - Nothing particularly gentle comes to mind in the way of rides
MK - Pirates of the Carrabean(sp) (boat ride again). Small World (boat), Possibly Snow Whites Adventure. Peter Pans Flight, Hanuted Mansion.

I'm sure there are many more, but add those I've mentioned to the shows and you will still have some very full days.

Hi Lynda,
Do you usually suffer from car sickness? Are you okay on the flights?

If you suffer excessively in everyday life, it would be worth consulting your GP.

You can buy non-drowsy Dramamine in USA - I like Dramamine as it doesn't cause side effects as other anti nausea tablets can sometimes do.

If you'd prefer not to take anything, then rides that just carry you round without any thrill aspects whatsoever are : It's A Small World, Peter Pan, Liberty Square Riverboat, the Walt Disney World Railroad, Tommorrowland Transit Authority and the Raft to Tom Sawyer Island. I take it you go into the shows in MK?

In Epcot - Universe Of Energy, Living With the Land Boat ride

In MGM Studios - the Great Movie Ride. The Backlot tour should be okay except the tram shakes a bit in Catastrophe Canyon. I don't think that could cause nausea unless you become anxious.

In Animal Kingdom, you can take the Wildlife Express Train - believe me, there is nothing 'express' about it!! - to Rafiki's Planet Watch.

Yes, had motionsickness all my life, I suffer as a passenger in the car but am usually ok when driving!!! I take Stugeron for the plane journey, along with the relief band, can still feel a little nauseated if the plane starts to bump around, I think I now make it worse by getting anxious just in case a feel ill.

Rain....You can try taking Bonine for motion sickness. In drug stores in the states you can get it very inexpensively by asking the drugist for Meclizine Hydrochloride 25 mg. They are chewable tablets(raspberry I think). Bonine can be expensive, but the generic form is available behind the counter for about $9.99 for 100 tablets. The dosage is 1-2 tablets once a day. I took this for my last trip to WDW, and it worked great!! I hope this helps you so that you can enjoy the wonderful rides. This is a non-drowsy formula, so you won't be feeling fatigued.
