Does anyone know where to find a list of rides that pregnant women can ride while at Disney?

For example, I'm assuming it would be ok to ride "little rides" like IASW, Dumbo, etc. Am I wrong? Are all rides off limits?

If not, please pass along any ideas on which ones are ok. A friend of mine will be five months pregnant when she goes. She and her husband are taking their almost 4-year-old. It will also be her husband's first time.

The signs at Disney recommend that pregnant women, people with heart conditions and so on not to ride some rides, but I think you can do that at your own risk. I say take a look at the ride and judge for yourself. I think you'll know what the baby can and cannot handle. :) Have fun!

You can find a list of ride restrictions here:

http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/rr.htm

Note that this page lists ALL restrictions (age, height, pregnant, etc.), so just look for the notations that would apply.

My wife was 6 mos pregnant during one trip, and I have to say that this list is a very good one. The attractions listed are there for the protection of the mother and child. We dodged the recommendation on Kilimanjaro Safari, and regretted it later. Despite the fact that it is a safari excursion, the trip is VERY rough at times.

Dinosaur is another that may tempt you to buck the rules. Don't! I wouldn't let DW near that one if she tried. VERY, VERY rough ride.

The others on the list are mostly rollercoasters, and obviously you want to avoid those.

Anything not on this list is fair game. Have fun!

I just got back from WDW, I am almost 6 months pregnant. I rode the Safari ride because I had already done it, it is very bumpy, but it wouldn't harm you or your baby. Babies are VERY protected inside the womb, and the ride would probably do nothing more than rock him/her to sleep. Also, I read that you could ask to go in the safari vehicle that they use for wheel chairs and its a less bumpy ride. I wanted to ride Kali River Rapids soooooooo bad, but I had never gone on it before, so I didn't want to take the chance. I sent my husband, sister, and 3 and 4 year old on and my sister said it would have been fine for me. Less bumpy than the safari. It does have a small drop, but I read that it is smaller then the drop on POTC, which is 14 feet. So if we had had time, I would have gone on it, if in doubt, send your husband, or someone else you trust on ahead and see what they say. Sometimes I think those WDW transportion buses should have a warning.

We went to WDW when I was 18/19 weeks pregnant. I avoided anything with a warning...didn't want to take any chances, especially since we had been to WDW several times before and know we will go several times in the future. :)

::yes:: ITA!! Sometimes riding the buses I would think...I could easily ride Thunder Mountain. LOL!

I have been sitting here trying to figure out why that list says expectant mothers may want to avoid Universe of Energy....I can't come up with a reason why. Does any one else know...I can only think it would be for motion sickness reasons because of the large movie screens. Certainly wouldn't seem to be a rough ride issue in those huge - slow moving theatre vehicles.

I went to WDW with DH alone while pregnant with our third child. I was approximately 5 months. My ob said that with the exception of RR, and ToT he thought everything else would be fine. They have built MS since which is obviously a no no!!

I have read that on forums like this, but I can tell you from experience of riding many times both in the safari vehicle they use with wheelchairs and the regular one that it is not true.
The cars all travel on the same, simulated rough roads. The only difference is that the wheelchair safari vehicle boards and unloads at the same "station" so that people who are able to transfer out of their wheelchair for boarding can have the wheelchair close by when they get off. There is also a permanent ramp for loading wheelchairs for people who need to stay in their wheelchair.
Other than that, the ride is exactly the same - and can be very rough at times.

I have no idea who put it on the list, but it is not listed by Disney as a ride with any warnings at all. It is a very slow moving ride.
