Rides and line up question....

Last July we started out our morning with hubby determined to get us on Nemo, when the gates opened he rushed to get in line while I tried to get a stroller and meet him there asap. But really even though we waited 2 hours in the line it did move fairly quickly and I think the best advice I can give is to be friendly with the people around you in line. When my youngest started getting antsy hubby took him outta line, fed him nearby at TT then he got back in, nobody seemed bothered because everyone was getting hungry and hot by the time we got half way. People were offering to hold a neighbors spot while they go grab a bite, or use the bathroom. So I think stepping out line for a potty break, grabbing a bite, etc is o-k. As a mom I'd completely understand if you're dh took the kids out of line for a quick break and then brought them back. Good luck :goodvibes

Thanks for asking this question--it is one that I had been wondering about as we plan our trip to DL with a 4 year old and 2 year old.

Carm,
I'm okay when I see:
1) obviously the same nuclear family unit rejoining each other not 15 friends and 1st, 2nd and 3rd cousins suddenly surging into the line at the last minute.
2) a case where mom/dad/grandma or pa had to take junior to the potty and comes back to join the main group already in line.
3) a special needs child is taken into the line to rejoin his/her family at the last minute with a family member. That's just basic kindness.

I agree w/ CoolPool & as a parent of young kids...going through much of the same things - I think I can be a bit more sympathetic. If a crying child is out of control by all means get her out of there for the sake of everyone elses eardrums - but I wouldn't expect you to bring your hubby & other kids too, they shouldn't be penalized for one cranky baby. And after she was calm & you came back, I wouldn't be offended. PLUS it helps if you get in line & you see there's an empty stroller, you KNOW at least 2 extra people will be back in line soon.

I remember the last time this was brought up...the thread was equally as controversial. ;)

I don't think there is a problem when you have little kids. I think most people would be pretty understanding of the situation. We were there last month and at that time they were allowing families with small children to use their strollers until we got closer to the front. We loaded up on snacks and the kids were able to stay in the stroller until the last 15 minutes in line. Also, a previous poster said to use a fast pass. This ride has no fast pass hopefully they will change that in the near future.

Since Nemo is your main worry here, I think it's a unique queue. It's all outside, you're allowed to have strollers in the line with you, and it's really open, so everyone can see that you might be talking to others outside the line.

But really, the line feels shorter than it actually is, and in my experience (and what more than one CM told me), the estimated wait time is a big ol' lie. :upsidedow And strollers are allowed, which is just lovely. They even park the strollers for you, once you get right up close.

Adding. I personally won't get back into a line if I have to leave it. We left for awful behaviour when getting close to the end of a long Dumbo line, and it was hard to get out! Other lines, leaving for bathroom reasons, it just looks really hard to get out, let alone back in. The Peter Pan line is so *narrow* that squeezing past people, depending on your size and theirs, could be actually impossible, unless you duck under or are tall enough to go over the "fences" making up the queue. Anyway, I won't get back in, I'm just not that kinda chica. But I've been gracious to others about it!
