Hi all, does anyone have any experience utilizing the rider switch program with the new fast pass + and magic band system? My wife and I would both would like to ride soarin but we have to take turns because my son is too young. Do you both touch the fast pass Mickey machine and then a cast member gives a physical ticket for a later time for the other person to ride? My concern is that if we have a fast pass for 10-11am and we show up at 10:50am, then only one person will get to use the fast pass as the other person wouldn't be able to get on the ride until after the first is completed which might be beyond the fast pass return window. Any advise or experience would be great, thanks so much!!!

Hi Polynesian27

I had that same question yesterday, I did some research and it looks like you can do ride swap with fastpass+... but if anyone else has a better answer would love to hear.

Thanks
Alex

I would like to know if you have kids big enough to ride as well as a baby, do they get to ride twiice>?

I am not sure on the scanning aspect, but the baby swap return tickets they give you (same as with the old fastpass) are good for the remainder of the day (I believe). So, as long as you make it in your fast pass window, you don't have to do the swap before the time expires, you have some time to do this... At least this is how I understand it :)

Yes, big kids get to ride twice while parents swap out to wait with the child not big enough to ride. I think the swap cards are good for up to 3 guests on the return trip.

Based on my understanding, only one of you needs a FP, since the other can ride with the rider swap card.

Get one FP for soarin, and the other for TT and you'll be in business!

Just got back from a trip where we did rider swap many times. The person who is going to ride first needs a FP. You must both go to the attendant at the FP line together with the child that is too small. Just tell them know you want to do a rider swap. I was given a rider swap ticket. All my tickets said they were good until April 30. Then you can leave with the child and your husband scans his bands and goes through the line. When you return to ride you don't need to scan anything just show the attendant your ride swap ticket and you will be allowed to go through the FP line.

FYI: The rider swap allows 3 & only 3 guests to go back through the FP line. Now I know someone is probably going to flame me for this but here it goes. We have 4 kids 3 who met the 40 inch height requirement. I knew it would be a big fight to decide who got to ride again with mom. So I would book a FP for everyone. My husband would ride with the 3 kids all using their FP and I would get a rider swap with the baby. Then when they were done, I would give my magic band to my 14 year old which still had my eligible FP on it. I would then use my rider swap to take the other 2 on the ride with me while my husband stayed with the baby and my 14 year old would go through the FP line and scan my bracelet and use my FP. We never had any issues with this.

thanks for the information, just to make sure I understand this....between my wife and I, we should only get one fast pass (for the rider switch rides) as this will allow us to use fast pass plus most efficiently?

Yes. We just got back and had no problems getting a rider switch pass for Splash when DH used his FP+. None of our kids wanted to ride and the youngest is right at the minimum height. The kids and I got FP+ for their favorite ride, which DH happens to not like. But you could also book one adult on Soarin' and one on Test Track, and get rider switch passes at each attraction for the other adult. People touring without small kids are still way more efficient, so I wouldn't feel bad using the system within the rules created by Disney. :)
