It is my understanding that rider switch allows the return rider to join with 2 guests (3 total). I have a 4 year old that will likely want to ride twice and also (almost) 2 year old that I may consider taking if she works up the courage. In this case, on the return ride we would have 2 adults plus a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old. Is rider switch like Fast Pass + in that infants 'don't count"?

I think you can only use rider switch on rides with height requirements. Others may know better, but I didn't think FEA qualified.

Which child in your group isn't riding so that your family qualifies for the Swap pass?

If you are using the 2 year old to get the Swap pass so that all 4 of you ride on the Swap, that isn't allowed.

yes someone has to not ride, I have heard that they do allow ( or at lest on the website) RS for FEA but with no right requirement every one could ride ( unless it was someone in a wheel chair that could not transfer )

Ah, I just posted this exact scenario on the DISabilities forum. So, we can do rider swap if we have a wheelchair bound person who cannot transfer?

FEA is listed on Disney's website as a Rider Swap ride, as was Maelstrom before it.

I have rider swapped Maelstrom, but not FEA. I will be attempting that next month.

The unusual thing here is that there is no height requirement, so what determines eligibility for RS? For Maelstrom, at least for us, it was always because one of my kids was ~2 or 3 and would be too scared of the dark and the drop.

The 2 year old should easily qualify you, but the 3 people who ride on the RS shouldn't include the 2 year old. Others can ride it twice.

Kinda confusing .... who is the child who is not riding at all, is there a baby in the group?

There has to be one that will not ride at all to do rider swap.

- Disney published policy is that the returning rider (the one who has not been on ride because they stayed behind with the baby) can bring ONE.

- What happens in real life is that they let them bring back TWO (makes no sense seating wise). So not four.

Have no idea why FEA would have rider switch when Pirates and Haunted Mansion do not. Certainly not needed.

NOTE: We have never been allowed to do rider swap with my adult DS who is clearly disabled "because he is tall enough." It's one of Disney's inconsistent policies.

I think it's because Pirates and Haunted Mansion generally have such sort wait times. But it is rather annoying that they both don't, especially when HM goes to 30m+. One of us usually doesn't ride those.

Rider switch passes (aka Child swap) only applies to rides that have a minimum height requirement. So an infant can never participate in riding with someone on a rider switch pass.

FEA does offer Rider Switch/Child Swap. I thought it was perhaps because sleeping children are not allowed on the ride so an adult would miss out.

Anyway, the OP's question appears to be circumventing Disney's Swap policy to gain another FP ride so closing for now.
