Rider Switch question, has this been asked before?

I've been lurking around for a while, I tried to find the answer to my question but I wasn't very successful in finding any threads or posts about it (my sincere apologies if this has been asked/answered before and I just missed it!!).

We are going on our first family trip this August, our girls will be 6 (we'll actually be there celebrating her birthday :lovestruc), 3, and just over a year old. We'll be using the RS pass for the rides dd3 is too little for, but I was wondering what happens with the rides where only 2 passengers are allowed to ride together? I'd like to think dd1 and dd2 would be fine riding together while dh rides alone behind them or in front of them, but in some rides dd2 will have no choice but to ride with dh and dd1 would then have to ride alone. I know she'd be fine doing that in SOME of the rides but definitely not all.

I understand that RS passes are not for kids that meet height requirements, but we'll have to get one anyway because of dd3, so then, with this in mind, is there a chance the CMs will let us do the following: we get the RS pass, dh rides with dd1 while I wait with dd2 and dd3 and, after they're done, i'll ride with dd2 while dh waits with dd1 and dd3? This way we all get to ride and neither one of the girls has to ride alone if they don't want to go solo. Has anyone ever done it this way or know if this is allowed?

The last time I was there (2010) the RS allowed the non-rider plus 3 others to ride. So I waited with the baby while my 3 kids and dh went on the ride. When we switched, my dh waited while I went on the ride with my 3 kids, their second time around.

It would be great if someone could confirm that RS is still the same as I described.

It is no different, probably why it hasn't been discussed too much. You are still just going to need 1 RS pass, unless it is important for each parent to ride with each 6yo. The family will approach the rider swap CM with the little ones, collect the rider swap pass, then mom or dad will get in either standby line with the first 6yo (happy birthday!), or use a FP+. After mom or dad + first 6yo ride, then second parent and second 6yo (happy birthday!) can ride.

I believe a child must be 7 to ride alone, so you are stuck with the one parent one child + RS pass combo. They will ask, especially in the single rider lines.

Yes, this is the same, or was in December. You still can't sit 2 height OK 5yo side by side on say Everest. You would need an adult to sit with each child 6&U.

I think you'll find that practically every ride will fit 1 adult and two kiddos... Especially younger ones like you have. We fit two adults and my kiddo (now 9) together on most everything!

The rider switch passes are so you only have to wait in line once- 1 of you is expected to enter the line and wait (or use your FP) while the other waits with the child that is too short and then the 2nd adult goes with the children for a second ride for them. Since neither of your girls can ride alone you will have to have 2 children wait on rides that have individual seatbelts and then the 2nd child and adult can go on the pass. You don't just ride only using the switch pass you get the switch pass to ride after someone else has used the line.

Thank you all for your replies! My girls are very tall for their age (3 year old is 38" right now and 5 year old is currently 42") and I'm sure they'll grow another inch or two by the time of our trip.....good grief! lol I just keep reading that CMs focus on the height and age is not considered, so I was worried they were going to tell us that, because they meet the height requirements they'd both have to go on the ride even if one had to go alone. Glad to hear that's not necessarily the case!
